I’ve been casually trying to decide on another lady dior in a more subtle color/finish than the patent black I have, and the SA pulled these two out after being distracted by a pine in ostrich. I love the ostrich and I can’t stop thinking about the powder blue lizard, but the idea of eating the depreciation grosses me out. I’d have to sell a bag to get one of these. Is it totally silly? I don’t take them to work, but I’d like to be able to use them on a regular basis going out and about.

Aesthetically I’d go for the lizard. However, since you’re looking to use the bag on a regular basis, I would wonder about durability/delicateness. That being said, I know absolutely nothing about exotics. I only own lambskin and cow leather bags - so I’m not insinuating anything, but I’d want to make sure that you don’t have to baby the crap out of it, or worry every time you’re using it.

As far as having to sell a bag to fund this purchase - only you can decide whether that’s something you’re ok with! If you love the lizard or the ostrich, then go for it. It is frustrating that Dior bags don’t hold their value, but that’s why I only buy what I love.

Both are beautiful!! I own an ostrich mint colored small Prada galleria and a Dior lizard olive colored montaigne 30. I love both! Lizard is more delicate and cannot get wet and if it does you must wipe it down immediately or the scales can fluff (ew). However ostrich can get wet and is durable (you must be careful with the handles and oils darkening it and it must be stored in a dark room). I would never buy an exotic for daily wear. However I do use all of my exotics casually and select according to the weather, etc… Ostrich will be a better daily bag over lizard. I am a huge lizard fan so I get your dilemma. Personally I LOVE the ostrich lady Dior above and think it’ll be more classic and wearable. Plus I see way more lizard LDs and not many ostrich. You can’t go wrong with either as they’re both beautiful

Both bags are stunning. I would probably go for the ostrich as it looks great for regular use. Information about the bag you need to sell to buy one of these two could be relevant to talk you in or out...

I would definitely go for powder blue - Dior does blues so well so it’s a great choice aesthetically. Agree with others though that I have no experience with exotics so can’t comment on durability!

The ostrich is a great choice in my opinion! I own a Ferragamo ostrich bag in this exact color that I finally used this past year for daily use on a trip to NYC. I didn’t feel the need to “baby” the bag at all because of material and color. I already own a few Dior “blues” so admittedly I am biased 😉
