tadelakt: pros/cons?

I have seen a few bags in tadelakt but i am just not loving the leather very much. would you all call it a cross between swift and box?

That's how my SA describes it - smooth like Boxcalf but soft as Swift. It's more matte than Box.

Need to see it in a bag before I can comment more - only seen it in small leather goods thus far.

its maybe a little dull and i think it looks best in some colors verses others..................gucci do you have anything in it?

I am ordering a few things in it.

I love it in violet and rouge vif...and orange is nice too.

I think its best in colors!

violet tadalak is my FAV.

^^ Grisolet is one colour that looks lovely in this leather - more of the violet than the gris is apparent.

Etoupe is another color that look great in this leather. I would love to have a tadelakt birkin.

I have two tadelakt KCs and I like the leather. It is a hybrid of box and swift - its a bit more matte than box (it doesn't develop the same patina as box) and its sturdier than swift. My KCs are also lined in chevre, whereas my swift items are lined in swift.

Like swift, tadelakt holds color very well. Most bright colors look very vibrant in this leather.

The price point is similar to box and swift, but tadelakt is slightly less expensive. On Oct 24th, Jag posted that her SA had a beige swift KC for $4150 and I purchased my tadelakt thalassa blue KC in mid October for $3525 (both prices are pre-tax).

To me Tadelakt is like a replacement for Chamonix. I would love to have a Rouge H Tadelakt Birkin!

I believe Tadelakt is softer than Chamonix. Would love to see it in Rouge H, with white stitchings!
