sydney evans "love" collection: trendy or classic?

hi!! soo over the years i've been tempted time and time again by SE's pieces. especially her script necklaces and rings etc. i'm 18, around the age group where all these trendy things are being targeted, but i'm scared that once i buy something, i'll think, a few years later "oh, this couldve gone towards a cartier love" or something along those lines and stop wearing it if i've grown too "old" for it.

but her pieces ARE gold and diamonds/precious gems, and even if low quality, look sooo pretty irl. so is it a trend? a classic? should i even be worrying about this at 18?? haha

I'm of the opinion that her pieces are trendy and overpriced to boot. I'm not a fan of SE.

I really like her pieces. I want the "live" necklace and her evil eye bracelet. I only hesitate because I can't go to the store and see them in person so I would have to purchase online.

I don't think love is ever trendy ~

There are so many that are inspired by pieces that I have seen in little boutiques. Especially the Love, Hope, etc.

I've also seen something similar at Target, Etsy.

if you love it, get it. Although its popular now, I don't think any jewelry is ever trendy.

thanks everyone for your input!!! i'd love i if i could find an inspired piece for less, but i'm specifically in love w the rose gold love necklace w pink sapphire not many brands work w this combo of pink sapphire/rg which is one of my faves haha!

I think you'd be surprised- brands are working with pink sapphires and gold- I have always loved her designs but the stones are just not not worth it at all... Everyone thinks my evil eye is from her so I'm satisfied with what I happy but I would stick to an inspired necklace and ask an etsy designer to make a love necklace for you. I'm also obsessed with the live necklace- I've wanted it since she released it but ill prob eventually have it made by someone with much better quality instead

If you love it, get it. Don't worry about trends.
If it's well done, it's forever, even if it does evoke a certain era. After all, people still love art deco.

I think it's trendy but it's also a piece you can wear for a long time. Personally I love it and I would go for it. It's a gorgeous necklace. Don't worry about trends. And if later you want something classic, you can always get it.

I think the pieces are trendy, but also very fun and youthful.
I would not let it deter me - if you love it, and you'll wear it - go ahead and enjoy it.
Don't over think it.
