swift or tadelakt for jige elan 35?

i have a griolet PM jige in taledakt, and the feel of taledakt is slightly glossy, stiff, and similar to boxcalf (and i've also read here that they are pushing taledakt as a box alternative). while i love the smooth feel of taledakt, it is more prone to scratches than swift. i practically had a heart attack when i saw a couple of light fingernail scratches on my jige the first time using it. not sure how these light scratches will blend into the leather - time will tell i suppose.

i have a PM karo in swift, and that is a much softer, slouchier leather. the drawback to this leather is that, i've already noticed a few small places where the color seems to be rubbing off? not completely, but there are lighter yellow (it's soleil) patches where i guess my karo bumps up against other stuff in my purse.

i vote for taledakt in the jige as i generally prefer a more box-type leather and the stiffer leather will hopefully help maintain the structure / shape of the jige better.

^^ITA! I have a tadelakt jige in violet and although I've noticed some light fingernail scratches on it I love the structure and smoothness of it.

I vote for the tadelakt.

Hmm, tough call but I lean toward swift. If you find the match (Meltonian) for touch ups should there be a rub, at least you can address it. Tadelakt, while I like the structure, the scratch factor means it's not something one can just fix w/a touch up and it will happen more often than the rub that may need the occasional DIY fix.

So we're back to the tradeoffs, the ying and yang. Where's that perfect skin?

I own two tadeladkt bags -- a Constance and a Bolide. I love them both. They have a lovely structure to them.
The Bolide is very light in color -- parchemin. I haven't noticed any dirt or scratches on it. It's sad to think that a leather like tadeladtk is more perishable than something else. But then, too, isn't the Jige lined in fabric and not leather? I wonder if that makes a difference in how the leather holds up. My parchemin looks more veiny than swift. The orange, does not show veins, nor scratches.

HOpe to have helped.
