Are you a sweets kinda person or prefer vintage or believe in the magic of the magic size?

Or,

Do you prefer and wear all three sizes?

Or,

Do you prefer different sizes for different types of pieces? For example. Magic for pendants only etc.

I can go first!

I do like all three sizes and believe we can make a case for each of them! But, if you twist my arms😝, I would choose:
  1. Sweet size for long necklaces. I mean how awesome would it be if VCA started making sweet 20-motifs in all stones?😍 Would make long necklaces more wearable imo.
  2. Vintage for bracelets. I feel like they are the perfect size for 5-motifs.
  3. Magic for earrings. Magic earrings have so much presence! The only time I would personally do vintage earrings is if I am wearing a matching 10-motif. Then, vintage earrings are perfect!

Looking forward to hearing your thought process in choosing between different sizes♥️

And here’s a pic that accurately depicts my preferences for each size 🤗

I like to mix.
Magic for long necklace, but with magic I prefer sweet earrings.
Vintage earrings with vintage or lucky pendant, or 10m.
To be fair I have never tried magic sized earrings, so that could change my mind!
Agreed, IMO vintage is the perfect size for station bracelet.
I would love the equivalent to 10m in sweet size! With vintage earrings however.

I like vintage for bracelets. It’s definitely more substantial, and with regards to pave motifs, they sparkle so much more. That said, I love my little WG pave sweet 6 bracelet but it is significantly more demure. Different horses for different courses.
I would LOVE if they released sweet bracelets with stones and/or necklaces.
I do not own any magic and I don’t have any on my wishlist at the moment either. Nothing against it, but my ears can’t stand any weight so the earrings are out for me and while some of the pendants are nice, my wishlist is long enough already!

I prefer Magic in Frivole. Earrings, pendant and IBF ring. The glow that it gives…out of this world! The IBF ring was my first VCA piece in 2018… when Frivole was not as popular as today. Slippery slope…
In Alhambra I prefer vintage for bracelet (got the onix- my first Alhambra… to taste the waters), for pave pendant and MOP earrings. Magic for MOP pendant and ring. Since my ears are not pierced VCA is the only brand I can buy and use as clip on. I am always affraid I will loose the magic frivole ones so I had them tightened. Imagine the pain … but I love them!

Hehe you are in for a treat when you try the magic earrings @lolakitten 😝 Once I tried them it was hard to go back to vintage although I did choose vintage hammered WG earrings rather than magic ones to wear with my hammered WG 10-motif necklace. I guess it’s all about the scale. Like I totally get why you would choose sweet earrings with magic long necklace because the magic necklace already has so much presence.
Gosh, wouldn’t 10-motif in sweet look amazing?
Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts♥️

I love it 😆 different horses for different courses summed it up PERFECTLY 🙌🏼 @Swellgal and oh yes, the vintage is just perfect for 5-motifs although the WG pave sweet 6-motifs and the RG hammered 6-motifs give me pause for thought!
I don't have enough personal data to form a studied opinion however, vintage is what I have - 2 bracelets and 2 pairs of earrings. Clearly there are holes in my collection. My feeling is that I could see a time and place for each size.
I love your beautiful stack that you shared on the action thread @CoastalCouture and I love how you mix different brands!
I agree there is a time and place for each size😍

Magic size in Frivole does look amazing. I am waiting for a WG mirror finish large earrings and am so excited! Frivole is probably one of my fave designs after perlee. You have an amazing collection already @gold&diamonds

For me easy:

1) Vintage: 5 motifs, 10 motifs, 20 motifs but NOT in a single pendant. I am happy enough with my one pair of vintage WG diamond paved earrings and vintage Yellow Gold Guilloche each.

2) Magic: Single pendant or 6 motifs, Earrings (future, if I have any offer): 1 motif, 2 motifs, or even 3 motifs, and Between the Finger Ring. For some reason, i am not that fond of 16 motifs Magic (took a long time to wear/style even when i tried it on at the Boutique last year) and my SA said I wore the 11 motifs Magic like a MEDAL 🏅 so NO 11 motifs or 16 motifs for me

Unfortunately, I have no room for any sweets 🤭

Generally the vintage is the perfect size motif for me in most iterations, though I have a soft spot for the 6-motif sweet bracelet for a more understated look, and for stacking with other pieces.

I'd love a Sweet Alhambra earring if they made it into an ear clip, just so that I wouldn't be disowned by the familial units, but hey ho...

I only like the Magic pendant in the smaller size (i.e. the ones used in the Ginza Edition pendant), not the bigger one. My personal view (please don't hate me) of the standard Magic pendant is that the proportions are a bit off i.e. it feels a little like its been spread out too much, like a pancake? (might just be the Ramadan fasting brain talking there...)

Agree with @eternallove4bag.

Vintage for bracelets. Sweets for earrings tho. If 20s in colors were available in sweet that would be amazing.

If only my ears could handle magic but oh well.
🤗 a girl after my own heart @EpiFanatic I wish and hope VCA releases either 16 or 20 sweets in different colors🤞🏼 It would make these long necklaces so much more wearable on a daily basis!

BTW I had the chance to see the sweet pave WG Alhambra earrings you have in person the other day and the sparkles on that beauty were unbelievable! Now I know whey you love them so much 😍

Oh gosh your SA’s sense of humor had me chuckling 😂 @BabyBenV I love that you know what you want and get those pieces without any second guessing! I always drool over your earrings collection😍
Like you I would do Guilloche earrings in vintage size too! Magic would be a bit much in Guilloche!
I think all three sizes have their place, but vintage for bracelets just feels right. Magic size can be a bit much for earrings, but I get why people love the presence it brings. If they ever released a sweet 20-motif in different stones, that would be a game-changer.
@easternhair Agreed! All sizes have their place. I wasn’t a fan of magic earrings till I was and now they are my favorite size although for certain designs I still prefer vintage earrings because I feel magic would be a bit much like Guilloche earrings.
Vintage for me mostly. They are great everyday pieces and the size isn’t overwhelming for petites. Sweets only on 6 motif bracelet and 16 motif long necklace. I haven’t ventured into magic sizes yet. Love the presence on others but a bit too much on me.
@cloee The Magic size certainly takes some getting used to. Like you I love sweets on 16-motifs too!

Goodness me, you had me chuckling at the pancake bit😆😆 @Prada Prince but I get it! My fave way to wear magic pendant is to shorten it otherwise worn long the motif used to bang against the table and everything else 🤦🏻‍♀️

Would you consider doing vintage earrings instead? I think they can work without ear piercings.

I love your 6-motifs RG hammered bracelet! I would have got that if my vintage 5-motif hadn’t miraculously showed up!
I love this thread! I wear mostly vintage. I like all three. I am patiently waiting for the sweet 16 in yellow gold and I'm sure it will be in rotation frequently. I wear my sweet 6 motifs in yellow gold alot too with my other vintage alhambra bracelets. I love the mix!
Thank you @lisawhit ♥️
I was almost going to post this question in my ‘tips to curate’ thread but remembered what you wrote last time that these questions can be a separate thread in themselves. Your voice was in my head 😂 so have to thank you for this thread.

I can’t wait to see your beautiful 16-motif in YG. VCA should honestly make that pieces available in all 3 metals without markup! I feel like it’s one of those quintessential piece that every VCA lover needs.

Like you I would do Guilloche earrings in vintage size too! Magic would be a bit much in Guilloche!

@eternallove4bag More to come definitely as I prefer to collect full set. I am a necklace/pendant/earrings/ring person howevef I always prioritise earrings first above other items.
