Please forgive me if the following sounds like an idiotic question but I honestly have no clue.

If a jewelry house (e.g. Tiffany's, Cartier, etc) stops selling a collection piece, does that make the the piece more or less valuable? Or it doesn't matter?

And btw, I'm not referring to sterling silver.:p TIA!
 
I think it's a matter of how much someone is willing to pay for it. If they're in love with it and they can't get it because it's no longer in production, they may pay more than the original cost.
