Summer ish bags in cities without a beach

Hey girls how do you feel about wearing raffia bags or kind of beach bags on the city where there Is no beach.?

im from Mexico City and right now every fast fashion store it’s biggest deal are raffia bags or beach bags. How do you girls feel about wearing summer ish bags in places like Mexico City, London or New York.?
I see how all fashion Youtubers wear them and I feel like I want one but I’m not sure if I’d feel silly wearing a beach bag on a regular city without a beach. the weather right now is kind of cold but not crazy cold.

Summer canvas and light colour/weight material/leather bags has always been a thing for me. I usually really enjoy the change of clothes and accessories with the seasons beach or no beach.

The fashion for straw/raffia bags seems to have come from the success of Loewe's sell-out Summer straw bags from a couple of years ago as a slightly less expensive price point. I really like that's made people like natural fibre, non-leather bags more in the Summer months.

I don't think you have to live on a beach to carry a straw bag and look summery, but if you do live/visit beaches be careful with your designer bags of all kinds because staining from oil/sand/lotions/tar/seaweed doesn't look great and it's so easily done (and who wants to be precious on the beach). Not to mention shaking/emptying sand out every visit.

Actually I’m not very much a beach person, so I guess I don’t need to worry about my bags at the beach.
anyway thanks So much for your answer and will look for my straw bag. I was just afraid to get one snd wear in the city.

I'm a rule breaker - I carry a beach tote (with photo print of fit guys in shorts running on the beach :nuts:) as a handbag in the summertime. If I had a raffia bag it would most likely be in my regular rotation from June to August.

Just go for it - and don't forget to post a picture for us as well!

Nothing wrong with a raffia bag but I wouldn't use the "beach totes" for every day wear unless I actually need the space. I would use a tote for groceries, picknicks and shopping but not for a quick coffee. Enough inexpensive small raffia bags on the market for that.

I wear toile bags in the summer in the city (Hermes toile is very summery). I love crinoline, but that’s harder to find nowadays
i wear tote bags to the pool or beach on vacation (preferably ones provided by the resort since un unfortunate accident involving sun screen and a bottle of water
for groceries, I carry a Whole Foods bag, usually one that collapses into its own little pouch.
honestly, wear whatever you like
