I'm saving up for a watch, which I plan to buy maybe end of this year or next year. I really like this one: http://www.longines.com/watches/longines-primaluna/L8.113.0.87.6 with the diamond bezel and diamond markers, but I was disappointed when I found out that it is not quartz. I would much prefer a quartz one (it's just a personal preference).

My jeweler suggested this Ebel one http://www.ebel.com/ebel-collections/classic-sport/ebel-sport-1215987.html, which is nice, but I don't like the bracelet very much.

I would love suggestions of any other brands/models that have a similar design to the Longines Primaluna, but with a quartz movement. I would prefer to have a diamond bezel and diamond markers. Preferably to keep within the budget of $3000 since I am going for a quartz model.

Since I will not be making the purchase anytime soon, I have some time to shop around, but I'd like some ideas!

Thanks in advance!

The watch that you want DOES come in quartz I think? Have a look at the Longines website and you will see that it comes in a range of sizes and specifications. That's my understanding anyway but apologies if I am wrong. Good luck in your quest. X

What are your thoughts on this one? It is a little similar to the primaluna but with a slimmer case and with a quartz movement.

It does seem like it from the website but i think that exact model i want is automatic only i believe. I even went to a Longines boutique to ask and thats what i was told too. Oh well....

Ah sorry....didn't mean to misinform, but I spoke to another SA from the Longines store and it turns out that the 1st watch I posted ( the Primaluna) does come in both quartz and automatic movements, just that they didn't have the quartz one in stock and I'll have to special order. Sigh....sometimes I do wish these SAs will bother to get to know their stuff properly instead of leaving it to the customer to do everything :confused1::rolleyes:

Have you considered a Tag Heuer?
The Link collection is dressier but more expensive. The Formula One collection has many variables...all steel, steel/ceramic, diamond bezel/markers but is on the sporty side.
I have a black steel/ceramic, diamond bezel/markers...just love it!
Tag also uses Wesselton diamonds that really sparkle.

I realised today that what SA's say is NOT to be trusted. I went into an Omega boutique today to do some lusting over the Aqua Terra with diamond markers. The specific model I want to try, the 34mm, was not available in store. However, such was their desperation to sell me a watch there and then, they tried to convince me that the model I wanted was no longer made. I know which watch I want but the pressurised selling today almost put me off getting an Omega altogether.

Oh that's terrible! Yes, I suppose for them, it is easier n faster to get a sale that way rather than order the specific item the customer wants. It is one thing to give wrong info unintentionally but another matter altogether to deliberately mislead customers in order to get a quick sale. : (

Yes, I think that the intent was to secure an actual sale rather than the promise of a sale later on.
