I don't know if what I want even exists (within my price range), but I am hoping to get suggestions for a very sleek wallet that meets all the following criteria:

-leather
-durable
-available in bright, pretty colors
-zippered coin slot
-will hold at least 6 credit cards
-no longer than 7.5 inch
-no thicker than .5 inch when empty (true measurements, not the BS measurements retailers give that are inevitably incorrect)
-no extra flap/foldover of any sort
-opens flat (either zip-around or button closure is fine)
-no extra heavy hardware or nameplates
-available for less than $200 (retail or sale price)

The closest I have found so far is the Marc by Marc Jacobs Sophisticato Tomoko Wallet, but I am not in love with it, and the leather (and print) seems a bit too soft to be durable for the long haul.

I was also curious about the MZ Wallace Waverly Wallet, but I am worried that one might be too thick.

And I like the look/design of the MBMJ Classic Q Vertical Zippy Wallet, but I don't like the big MBMJ logo plaque--is there a version of this without?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thank you!:smile1:

I picked up one of these, years ago, in a vibrant orange.
It's longer than you specified, but thin.
Very useful design & lightweight, imo.

Lodis has shorter designs, but they get thicker.

Hope this helps.

Have you thought of an open style wallet like Hobo's Euro Slide? I personally use this as my wallet in my smaller bags and I love it. It's in a pretty mint one and you can probably find a variety of colors on ebay for a good price.
I had a Lodis framed wallet and it was very compact.

How about a Kate Spade Stacy? or Coach makes a saffron leather slim envelope wallet which is also quite compact.

Thanks for the suggestions so far! Please keep them coming. :)

Is the Lodis one heavy with its metal frame?
I had a snap-closure Kate Spade wallet before but I wasn't very happy with it. I'll check out the Coach option though!

I don't find it to be so. The frame's just that, a frame for leather sides.
Not much different than a zip-around, but no teeth to snag clothes.
The top clasp pushes towards side to open. Can be pressed with thumb quickly.

I don't think the frame added much weight, in fact it was lighter and compact than my zip around kate spade wallet. It didn't hold as much, but was plenty big enough for what I needed daily.

So this doesn't have a coin slot, but I love the Proenza card holders! You can usually find them on sale, or I know there is a good selection at Barneys Outlet in FL for around $100-$150. They have card slots on the front and back as well as a middle pocket. And come in so many colors!

I just bought a Rodtnes foldover purse. It folds like a book so there is no extra flaps. There is a zipped compartment for phones! I hope it is big enough for my Note 2.
