I pretty much wear a watch everyday. I do not fancy bracelets. Watches are just cool to me. However, when I go on vacation, I don't like to take them since we are very active. My HG watch is my Omega Constellation - pretty conservative and non-descript. It's not the a fancy watch, but for me, it's my HG - I wanted one ever since I was little and proudly watched the USA nearly sweep the 84 Olympics (and Daniel Craig makes me swoon). I love my Tag dive watch, but it's pretty masculine and sporty. I have a couple of movados, but they seem too young to me.

I am thinking trendy but still decent - if I lost it, I'd be sad, but not devastated. I thought about Michele but I was turned off by the Fossil association. I was thinking about just picking up a Michael Kors watch since they are super cheap at Nordstrom Rack if I am going to get a fossil watch. I just can't stand the idea of a designer name slapped a number of watches. Gucci/Bedat (concept, of course) is of interest to me. I know some people on this forum have worked in the watch industry, so I would love to get some advice.

I do not work in the watch industry, but have collected watches for years. If I were you, I would go with a watch at the Nordstom Rack. I would not stick to any particular brand, but one that you like the looks regardless of the brand. The discount would justify the various issues you discussed. Like you said, especially if you were to lose your watch, you would not feel as devastated. Good luck in your decision.

Thanks for the tip on PS - I am really interested in the "feel good" technology

my mom wears a PS constantly- she sleeps in the Fruitz version even. i wear mine once or twice a wk s dont really feel any difference with the teslar chip myself. when she and my dad got new ones they gave my sis and i their old ones!

I used to work as a watch specialist, among the ones you mentioned Omegas and Tags are the best, my personal favorites are Tags and they do have some really feminine designs, aswell. Movados we had a lot of problems with less so with Gucci, I like Gucci, they are feminine and fashionable and pretty nice quality. They are not real sporty though but if you are looking for a pretty watch I would recommend that.

Thanks! Since I am going for cheap and trendy, I may buy a Gucci and a Philip Stein and a Michael Kors (I love watches).

I adore my Omega and my Tag for very different reasons, but I don't wear them every day, especially when traveling. My two Movados have never worked very well.

Based on what you said I'd say Michael Kors also. When I travel I wear an Invicta dive watch and never take it off. I like knowing I can shower, swim, snorkle...whatever and it'll be fine.

Thanks for all your help! I decided to go with a white ceramic and rose gold Michael Kors watch. I ordered a Fruitz by PS watch in Plum. I figured I would try these out. If the PS watch really helps, I may need to trade up a fancier style. The Tag and Movados need to to go anyway.

Michael Kors, Michele, Emporio Armani and others are all made by Fossil!!! So getting a Kors watch is just an overpriced Fossil, as far as I'm concerned. I bought a Michele before I knew that, and I'm actually really disappointed. My Fossil rose gold "boyfriend watch" is beautiful and a lot less expensive!

I agree . . . I was happy to get MK at a really good price, comparable to Fossil. I originally wanted a Michele, but when I learned of it's origin, I was less impressed. But they are still beautiful watches. I'm sure it looks great on you!

It's been a few weeks, and I'm wondering how the new watches are working out for you?

I've been wanting a PS Fruitz but I'm afraid it's too youthful for me...

I seriously love the Fruitz! I cannot sleep without it. I know that the natural frequency technology sounds hokey, but it is working for me. I wore it to Jimmy Buffett concert (which seems perfect for a purple watch) and actually got complimented on it - I never get compliments on my watches.
