I have a round brilliant diamond that I would like set in a right hand ring. The problem is, most settings that I see look like engagement rings.

Could you lovely ladies show me some possible settings?

I prefer simple white gold settings, smooth rounded lines like Marc Morrell, and split shank but that's not a requirement. The diamond is 1.53 carat, D color, ideal cut.

I would love to see your suggestions for how I could turn this diamond into a right hand ring.

sorry I don't really have an answer for you - but I suppose it's a subjective perception.
I've had the same dilemma and ended up with stud earrings and a bezel pendant. I think rounds can be tough to make into RHRs unless you balance that diamond with other stones or a fair amount of metal. That single round diamond, in a ring, always screams engagement to me.

looking forward to seeing what others think though.

I agree think if it's set with a fair amount of metal or stones it would be a more of a RHR. U may want to google some Art Deco type settings because I think those can work.

I think some colored gemstones would keep it from looking like an e-ring.

Something like this with other gems in the outer center would be cool

I like the circle on the left as well:

Thank you.

I was thinking of something like this, though I don't like the profile as much as the "head on" view.

My RHR is an engagement ring that was gifted to me from my dad. It is an Art Deco style with 1ct solitaire.. With around 80 small diamonds all throughout the setting. Does it scream engagement ring, probably but my E ring and band is on my left hand so I don't care that much. You should get what you love and not worry to much about it looking like an engagement ring. Are you married?

Thanks for answering, Friday. I am not married and I don't have any plans to get married again. I am happily divorced.

I don't really care what people think, it is more that the typical engagement ring styles don't appeal to me. I don't care for the traditional Tiffany solitaire or for a halo setting. I was hoping to find some other options.

If you have a picture of your art deco piece handy, I would love to see it. It sounds beautiful, plus the sentiment is very sweet.

Maybe something curvy & swirly inspired by this?

While they list it as an engagement ring I don't think it looks like one because it'd be so hard to wear a wedding ring with it. I adore this and would wear it as a RHR in a heartbeat!

Or for something totally different, a squared-off signet ring style doesn't look engagement in the least.

You have an awesome-sounding stone; good luck & have fun designing!
