IMO, tanos are nice, affordable bags in great colors. I have had one and really liked it, but then ordered another and was disappointed in the workmanship. There is a great tano subforum here, btw! GL!

I'm not sure what your price range is, but balenciaga has some great cross body bags. I personally like the look of the besace because the strap can be adjusted to be worn cross-body or as a shoulder bag. There's also the flat messenger. And there's the courier, although that's a huge bag.
