Hi all, I'm in a watch quandry. Currently I have a gorgeous gold Cartier with blue face and diamonds surrounding with dark blue croc band and a Rolex Datejust with gold and SS band and custom diamond bezel.I had the diamond bezel added after by a master craftsman and still have original bezel for servicing. I've had my Rolex for about 4 years now and was headover heels in love at first but now longing for a change.
I think I'm going to trade it in for a new watch but just not sure what I want. I like the SS cartier Roadster but am bothered a bit that it is not a real 'watchmaker' watch and more a piece of jewelery. Plus I already have my other dressier Cartier. I do love the clean lines and chunkyness of it.
I've looked at other Rolex watches and love the pearlmaster with 12 diamond bezel in white gold but it is out of my price range (it is $24k at this time). I also liked the Rolex yachtmaster in ss with palladium dial and bezel and that is more in my price range.
After that long-winded preamble, my question is what do you ladies suggest as my next watch. Please feel free to add suggestions not listed here but please tell me why you suggest and add pix if possible. I'm not all that familiar with watches.

Hi RC! Have you thought about the Chanel J12? I have a Rolex and a Cartier myself...and had a white ceramic Michele (in lieu of a Chanel) but felt it was too seasonal but now...am lusting after a black J12.....just a thought -- good luck lol!!! Decisions decisions!

I have the two toned roadster and I love it! Its so versatile since you can easily change watchbands. I also love that it can go with yellow gold or white gold jewelry. I highly suggest it!

hi Rockerchic, oh what a quandary to be in! I think it is a bit of a misnomer that Cartier is not a watchmaker per se. They have been making watches for a long time and some superlative styles make the rounds of serious collectors so don't worry too much whether you will be investing in a real watch or not. You gotta love it first! I absolutely adore the Roadster, however, for me, the face colour has to be something other than white, otherwise it looks too generic on my wrist. The Rolex styles i like are the Submariner or GMTII , looks fab casual or with your bling. Ofcourse many others with bling, including the Pearlmaster or Datejust series. How about some H watches, Cape Cod or H-our with the bling? Why not Jaeger Le Coultre?

Chopard Happy Sport, Jaeger Le Coultre Reverso or Reverso Squadra, Patek Philippe 24. I am not too sure about resale value but seems like Rolex holds its value better than any of the other brands.

Perhaps you may want to consider the Rolex Datejust 36mm with flower dial...it makes more sense to me trade in a Rolex for another Rolex.

Oooh I totally forgot about the Chopard Happy Sport. I love that watch!

I would go for a Rolex yachtmaster or GMT or Sub or SS daytona because you have a rolex already but not a steel one. I would also consider -

J12 - I know its not on your list, but it is a fun watch.
I would have said Patek 24 - but it is a dressy watch and it seems like you like the more chunky watches.

Thanks so much for the suggestions...
Here is what I'm down to deciding on
Rolex midsize yachtmaster (steel/platinum)
Rolex midsize datejust jubilee bracelet diamond markers (steel and white gold)
Cartier Roadster (SS)
DH and I are going to the store today to give the two Rolex a try to see which he prefers.

Have you consider Franck Muller? I have two rolexes and wear 1 men size from DH. I bought the Franck Muller Curvex and love it.

For those three choices that are narrow down, I would vote for Rolex Jubilee bracelet diamond marker. A girl can always extra sparkle and shine. Remember to take pics when you try them one.
