I need opinions on suede. I have never has a suede bag before because I have always been a little afraid of it. Today I received the red suede Rhyder and the black/orangish suede Rhyder. What do you think about suede? Is it going to get messed up easy? Hard to take care of?

The thing about suede is that when it is rubbed all different directions, it'll be darker in spots and may look dirty even though it isn't. If you are very OCD, this might bother you. For me, I love the texture. I would probably spray it with a waterproofer but that is probably not necessary unless you are going to carry it in a downpour. I use a fingernail brush to brush the suede when cleaning. After a very long time, the suede can wear down and get bald spots but I think that regular leather would have worn spots by then too.

I really think the blue would go with more than the black one because of the orange. I really like both. The suede is the only thing confusing me. I'm afraid I will pay that much for a bag and mess it up in no time. I live in Tennessee so it can be sunny here one minute then pouring the next.
IMO it's too much to worry about for that kind of money, I sold all my suede bags because I baby my bags and the suede ones always looked dirty, there are too many other stressors in life without adding a bag to the mix, I would go with the light blue it is stunning!!!
I love suede, because of the different texture, but I usually stick to the darker colors. The lighter colors will show wear and spots easier. In fact I noticed the new suede flap bag I saw at the FP store on Wednesday already had a spot along the side, looked like a moisture spot of some type.
