Just got a stunning caramel colored suede jacket that i love. Buuuttt it shed on the black t shirt I wore underneath & pilled it a bit.

Anything to do to stop the shedding ? And how do I avoid it pilling my t shirts? Also i tried both a soft clothes brush & sticky lint roller on the t shirt but couldn't get off the sheds, will it come off in the wash?

Good suede shouldn't do this. The suede should also be on the outside of the jacket anyway, usually the reverse is smooth leather or lined. Please include a pic of the suede.

Brush the suede with baby's hairbrush and see if it will remove the excess from the suede.

A sticky lint roller may make a sticky substance even more sticky.

It's definitely good suede & it's mostly lined, except by the collar & buttons inside. It's super soft suede so idk why it shed.
(Used the lint roller on the shirt underneath not on the suede).

Looks like antelope. This is usually one of the softest suedes. Is it vintage or new?

Normally you would brush such soft suede with (not against) the pile (suede looks lightest) with the use of a sample piece of the same suede (have a look if it's in one of the pockets) Other wise use a baby hairbrush gently to remove excess, dust and dirt.

Let me know how it goes.

I love suede and usually it refurbs better than leather.

Got ya on the lint roller on your shirt - my misunderstanding.

It says it's lambskin suede; brand new jacket.
A baby brush is a good idea since it's so soft! I don't see a sample piece of the suede unfortunately.

Thanks for explaining about going with the pile.
