Thank you for all of you who chimed in. I always feel I should update/follow uo so here it is..
I ended up returning the Valentino mainly because I thought I might want to try something new since I already have 3 pairs of rockstuds.. plus the aged gold logo on this one helped to ease my super matchy matchy mind lol. It was super comfy when I tried them on so I had to take the last pair they had which happened to be my size!

I liked both combos, not exactly matchy-matchy but the gold hardware ties in with the bag’s hardware. Cute sandals, enjoy!
I LOVE Gucci shoes! Great choice. I am with many others here who point out that Monogram goes with pretty much everything. I practically see it as a neutral at this point!
