This. That's why he has no time to date, remember? Too busy blathering on about how much better/more knowledgeable/attractive he is than everyone else to notice that people just roll their eyes and walk away....

The other guys are great though:p. Wish they'd participate more:graucho:.

Yes, he's getting an Evergrain men's long wallet. Does he know the Hermès color name they are ordering for him?

That's awesome for foo. I got DH an Evergrain wallet (think more George Costanza at this point than breast :p) about 5 years ago when I first took the jump into Hermes. It has held up amazingly well.

Personally, I think more men should carry breast wallets (I knew exactly what foo was referring to only because it just seemed logical, not because I had heard the term before...) assuming one wears jackets. Sadly, DH doesn't have occasion to dress up enough to make switching wallets a few times a week worth it.

What I am puzzling over--well, I think I know the answer, but unlike ID, I am not sure--is why this gentleman, whose posts, both in tone and content, so clearly express disdain for us all, is simultaneously so determined to demonstrate his superiority to us. Why does he care what we think? Indeed, even if some of us are agog, it is only cyber-admiration, and thus inherently insubstantial. Surely it would now be a more practical use of his very limited time to spread his knowledge on pastures new?

What field is that ;)

and I'm pulling for Yuri Gagarin status or nothing...one day...

edit:

Just so others don't think you mean it literally (literal interpretations in this thread have already happened too much) I will add a better analogy: Would you ask an eskimo what is sources for where the best places to icefish are?
So yes, I am the eskimo of my field. Cold, lonely, but with a fur trimmed overcoat.

Could it be? which is our dear Icarus?

Hi, I've had a quick look around this site, trying to identify the various forums available. I've also had a look at the "Wardrobe" area and specifically the "What are you wearing" forum.

I've noticed that very few women (read: none that I saw) seem to dress in a manner much more than what I would describe as "casual".

As Volkov enquired, is there some area on this site where women have photos where they are dressed in more "business-like" attire?

Hi, Clint. I myself tend to dress fairly formally on a day-to-day basis, mostly dresses or skirts - pants maybe once a week, and still fairly dressy, or something warmer if I'm taking my children to the skating rink. For me this is all about fun, and part of that is getting dressed as well. But I do not post photos of myself; as you can see under my avatar I have been a member here for several years but don't post terribly often - I tend to be conservative in my approach and really have no need to be "out there". (In fact, I surprised myself by joining this relatively controversial thread!) Maybe I will post a photo of an object to be helpful or to clarify, but that's it, and I'm sure I'm not the only person here like that - perhaps the more formal members here don't post photos of themselves?

ID, thank you for taking the time to respond to my post. I think we're going to disagree here, especially on certain points about the business model, and that's okay. You know what you know, and I know what I know, and really whatever the empirical truth is may be one, both, or something completely different.

I thought Hermes owned John Lobb. I haven't purchased anything from John Lobb, and am wondering if one runs into the same difficulties with their SAs that one sometimes encounters with Hermes' SAs?

The staff at the New York City Madison Avenue store are wonderful and have assisted me quite nicely regarding special orders and such and I'm simply plebeian relative to Mafoofan.

Do you remember in grade school when boys would pull your hair or make fun of you when they really liked you? I think ID is rather sweet that way. Hope he does stay on tPF!

Google the terms. I dare you. "Breast wallet" is all over the place and turns up . . . breast wallets. "Secretary wallet" is significantly less consistent, and the term is often clarified as "breast secretary wallet."

"Passenger wallet" doesn't appear to be a real term at all.

Oooooh, I dared to research the term "breast wallet." I refuse to use a trademarked name of a website, as a verb. Anyway. So, yes there are many available, just not from Hermes. Sometimes, you have to do your homework and maybe use the Purse Forum to learn a little bit about H's products and what they are called, and the types of leathers they come in, and go into the boutique a little more educated. Both you and the SA might have a kinder and gentler experience.

Glad to hear it.

To be fair to Mafoofan there have been occasions when Hermes SAs are ill-informed about the most basic items

To be fair to H SAs there are occasions when their patience is tested beyond a saint's with customer's questions

^^yeah. very typical. (not that I had been a girl whose hair was pulled. I wish. LOL)

and it is damn cute!

Doll, if i were a boy who liked boys, i for sure would be tugging your pigtails:smooch: what is not to love?

Now must get back to my regular workaholic 18 hour day and tell the minions who work for me to do something productive as I am woman and I bring home the bacon and all that..........

I will try to SO a double-breasted wallet for the enhanced look.
