dude, I messed around with that for ages, and I kept getting a link come up even though I was pasting in the image URL to the insert picture box...I think SF is to blame, since yours links to Photobucket. Cheater.

Anyhow....as I had been saying before....I have been shamelessly and enviously pilfering PF smileys at SF, cos they are so much better than ours, and as you are no doubt getting acquainted with the Foo and starting to realise what we are up against...every. single. day...I wanted to present you all with the following as a token of friendship from the mods at SF:

Wear it well....

Can someone explain why this thread is still kicking around in the main section and has not been moved to shopping or merged with this thread? The presence of a few new posters of male gender from another forum is surely getting some mod's knickers in a twist.

Because it's been a fun thread with a lot of good opinion and humor.

And mods are loving it, too. Just look at how often Megs and mistikat posted here.

And I'm quite enjoying the discussion ... I find the information about marketing and production fascinating and enjoy learning more about what goes on behind the scenes ... and people's differing opinions. Nothing like a good debate!

If you ladies want to ask something about the technical or corporate side of your favorite bags or brands, I'd be happy to provide an answer if I know it. ;):graucho:

Sure. These all pertain to Hermes:

What are the main goals of Hermes' current long-range plan?
What proportion of overall profits are sales in China expected to contribute in the next ten years?
How has the North American market demographic changed over the last ten years?

And please indicate the sources for your answer.

So, I've been lurking this thread from the beginning and wanted to chime in re: the Socialities and Celebrities threads that have been mentioned a couple times now.

Personally, I love those threads - but it's not because I want to be a socialite or dress like a certain celebrity. My job (yes, I have one of those) dictates that I wear a suit daily, and I sometimes struggle with pulling together appropriate weekend outfits. The people in those threads mentioned hire personal stylists to make them look great, and flipping through the pictures helps me get a sense of what styles I like and what looks I can put together using what I have in my closet.

For example, the pics in the Celebrities thread of Eva Longoria really spoke to me - I have jeans and plenty of black blazers and scarves - as I liked her style and loved the way she paired a dark blue birkin with black. I never would have thought that would "work," but it actually inspired me to choose a dark blue for my first birkin as I loved the combo so much.

Did I do it because I want to be Eva Longoria? No. (Sadly, I'm too tall. :p) I just like looking at stylish, classy women who wear their clothes and accessories well. That's also why I like looking at the style threads by tPFers, too.

Yup. No reason to merge the threads! They are different in terms of discussion, I think.

This thread is really in a H-aute class of it's own.

....and when was the last time we had so many men-folk in a thread? :p

My darling miyake, that is none other than the highly-esteemed mafoofan, the gent who wanted a dark green pebble-grained calfskin breast wallet that he attempted to custom order from Hermès Madison and who started a thread of epic proportions on his own Style Forum. It is he and his quest who is the source of all the fresh blood that has been infused into our little world. :p

(Didn't you read the first post of this thread???) :p
