About two years ago I was gifted a pair of Stuart Weitzman Reserve boots in nappa. The fact that they were gifted means that I have no receipt, which will become relevant.

First: I LOVE these boots. They are the most comfortable things ever. I am not usually a boot person, but I did wear these quite a bit during the last two winters. And I was excited to put them back on after summer ended a few weeks ago.

The very first time I wore them again, they broke. Badly. The soles on both shoes snapped in half. I took them to my local cobbler and he says that there is nothing to be done. The soles have disintegrated. Apparently, it happens sometimes after storing shoes during off season. But I am heartbroken! I expected these boots to last much longer than two winters. I am very meticulous in storing shoes and clothing, because I want them to last. I could have accepted it if they were worn out, but I didn’t even have a chance to reheel them.

I haven’t contacted Stuart Weitzman yet and I will, but I don’t expect much since I don’t know where they were purchased.

The thing that sticks in my gut is that I would go out and buy a new pair tomorrow if only I could be sure it wouldn’t happen again. Have any of you come across anything similar? How long can I expect these shoes to last?

Wow that's shocking to happen so fast and very disappointing too!
I had a pair of sw loafers years ago that I wore to death because they were so comfortable .
I did once bring them a pair of my boots and they sent it to their cobblers to be refreshed, can you try that?
