Straw poll: Which is a better investment?

I am trying to take a poll on what you guys think is a better investment in the long run: Any Balenciaga or Bottega Veneta woven hobo?

I've always loved the woven leather look from BV, but balked at the price. Also, I recently purchased a mini bowling Balenciaga (three weeks ago), but after 5 very careful uses, the tassles have split. The poor quality of the tassels make me mad that I spent over $1000 plus tax for it not to hold up longer. I'm so mad that I'm thinking about taking the bag back to my SA to complain and see if I can exchange it for something else.

So, I wanted to see how everyone feels about it.

i won't know about investment that u mean, is it about the resell price or about the quality and how long u will be able to use it.

but as a balenciaga die hard fans i would say balenciaga

I don't think you can go wrong with either bag. Those two bags are so different its impossible for me to compare. But, if you are looking for a more classic bag I would have to say BV.

I would also speak to your s/a maybe your tassles can be replaced. This seems to be common.

Bogetta veneta, I prefer. But not too sure about resale opportunities...

I think the Balenciaga motorcycle bags are beginning to go out of style and look tired (nevermind all the quality issues). But the Bottega Venetta woven hobo is a classic that will be around for years to come. Just my opinion, Bbag ladies!

BV's quality is top-notch. I think Balenciaga has more trendy "it" bags. Don't know about future resale--so many factors affect that. I buy Bottega because I know they will never look dated--they are already classic.

I love Balenciaga, I do agree they are more "trendy" but I like their style more.

I have an 06 Bal that I have been carrying A LOT, including traveling both by plane and by train. I have splashed coffee on it and gotten caught in the rain with it -- and it looks the same as the day that I bought it home from Neimans. IMO, if your tassles are splitting and/or your bag is showing wear this soon, take it back. Again, JMO, but I think that it is not acceptable for a bag that costs $1K or more to have quality control issues.
