That's difficult to say since the bag is black.
Honestly I think they're both fine and its more of a matter of personal preference and style.
The gold pops out more against the black while the silver is a little more muted and casual.
You can look at the bags and what hardware they have in your current collection and see:
1) Which combos you tend to reach for more often?
2) If you wish to have something more different that what you already have?

The Strathberry bags look gorgeous with gold hardware (which is the default on most bags). But it really is personal preference. I would always go for the gold hardware.
I like the way the gold looks but I'm such a fan of silver, I tend to go for silver every time.
