I've collected a few different SLGs from my own purchases or have received as gifts, that I rotate in and out of use or only pull out in certain situations (like when I'm traveling). One of my favorites is this super cute whale coin purse from Kate Spade - I've use it to hold my phone charger and/or extra battery, and cable(s) when I need to bring those along.

Most of these items didn't come with dust bags, and up until now I've mostly just tossed the smaller SLGs (like card holders, passport holders, luggage tags, coin holders) into drawers or miscellaneous bags that hold other things.

I'd like to find a dedicated place for these items, such as a breathable box, but was curious what other folks do for storing their SLGs or if you all have any suggestions. For example,
- Do you buy dustbags for the items that don't have them?
- Do the SLGs go in a sock drawer?
- Are the items displayed in an open box/organizer of some kind?
- If they came in a box, do you store them inside the box?

Your KS whale is just adorable :heart: I love their slg’s....

I used to store mine in drawers , some in dust-bags some without dust-bags...they would pile up, i could not ever see what i had, and most were not in frequent rotation as a consequence. So what i am doing now is lining them up in plastic baskets i got at walmart....if i remember i will take pix tomro....i opted for plastic rather than use actual baskets as i did not want the roughness of the natural fibers to scratch the slg’s....and i have the baskets sitting on open shelving where I store my bags....very easy to see what i have and switch out to match bags...and if you want to protect them you can slip a cotton pillowcase over the basketbor just lay it on top of the items

I have an IKEA Antonius frame basket thing for my SLG, bag organizers, clutches etc.

I recently bought some fabric boxes from Ikea to store the SLG - now I have wallets in a large one (in their dust bags if they came with one or if I had an extra one that fits) and coin purses in a smaller one. Some of my more delicate things live in their boxes although I'm not sure it's a good thing to store leather in a box since leather needs to breathe.

Thank you both for the suggestions and links! Luckily I don't have many SLGs (yet) that are unused, since I typically am using at least a few of them, but as an example, my brother gave me a Coach zip wallet and since I am 100% in love with my Celine zip wallet (and they're the same size), I don't really see any situations where I would be using them both at the same time.

I was considering these drop-front closet organizers from The Container Store but they're on the pricey side, and I'm not sure if I would simply prefer a box with a top-opening lid, even if it wasn't clear, just for ease of access. Something like this would also work, and even though it's plastic, the drawers aren't airtight.

Looks like a trip to IKEA might be in order though? I'm sure IKEA would have a lot of options, including baskets or drawers or other cloth organizers.

Love the set up from ikea @Amazona posted above....the ones you are looking at look good too...just be careful storing them in an enclosed environment...thats why i opted for open containers, and covering occasionally with a breathable cotton pillowcase....when i stored them in a drawer i experienced oxidation on some of the hardware...but i live in a humid climate also....

I don't know if airtight is great for leather SLGs. To some extent it would be better to have air circulating. I would also move away from anything that light can penetrate so they won't fade. So long as you are using them in rotation there shouldn't be too much of a problem with either though.
