Storing necklace chain so it doesn't kink

Thread it through drinking straws (those used for drinking soda/pop). You can cut up the straw in sections, so the shorter sections comply to the shape of the necklace (in case the chain has stiff sections). Remember, there are various sizes for straws available to accomodate different chain widths.

In the future when you get a box for the chain, you can store your chain in these straw sections inside the box. I find the straw method helpful in keeping the chain from scratching itself, and it is extremely helpful when there are diamonds involved.

You can buy jewellery stands from ebay if you're willing to pay some dollars. If you're not then you can just make a stand from scrap pieces of wood or make a tray from scrap metal.

This straw idea is genius! I travel a lot and try winding necklaces around little cardboard strips to keep them from tangling. Loving the straw suggestion. Though, it may look a little odd to the TSA agent rummaging through my bag! LOL
