how do u store things like white gold chains w diamonds and stuff? should they be in separate boxes or are they ok next to each other in my velvet-lined jewellery box? what do most of u do?

I usually keep things in boxes seperate, however, room doesn't always permit that. I also keep stuff in a jewelry box as well. I say if you have the room to keep somethings that are more valuable in their boxes, it would definitely keep them from getting scratched up.

I keep my really expensive pieces ($5K and up) in boxes and under that in my dressing room I have two jewelry drawers that are velvet lineD with sections and the rest goes in there!

I keep all the super pricey items in a walk-in safe/vault in individual boxes, usually. The rest is in jewelry armoirs, chains always hanging so they don't tangle, pearls in drawers, etc, etc.

It’s definitely a good idea to keep your most valuable items separate just in case anything were to happen. I have made quite a large collection for myself, so I usually store my everyday jewelry separate from the fancy special stuff. Before I started buying myself the more expensive jewelry, I used to keep everything in one box, and it would be such a hassle to separate everything. I started looking around online for some ideas and I came across the Jewelry Information Center website http://www.jic.org, they had lots of great tips on how to store your jewelry as well as keep it clean and looking new. One great tip I got was if you can find a jewelry box with lots of little compartments that’s something great to have, that way nothing gets jumbled or scratched. And definitely separate your whites and golds. :smile1:
