LV Stores closing ......

Our schools are closed until April 24th so they go back to school on Monday, April 27th (unless extended again). Our stores, restaurants, bars, etc are all closed with exception to delivery/drive thru food options. The only thing open are pharmacies and grocery stores. Still hard to believe. Flatten the curve!
Absolutely flatten the curve! I have a doctor friend in Seattle and it is bad. Setting up triage tents outside the hospital bad. We all have to do our part!

Breaking
Only essentials are now allowed to be open in Las Vegas. At midnight all casinos in the state will close. Tomorrow at noon, all restaurants bars non essentials will be closing for 30 days! Schools have been closed since Monday. To reopen April 6.

Same here in Reno. Our property is closing tomorrow. 2500 employees laid off just like that.

This may be a naïve question, but do they get their jobs back once the company reopens? Or do they rehire based on the need at that point?

It’s so terrible people are losing their jobs.
Right now they say we’re on CCLOA (Company Convenience Leave Of Absence) and that we’ll be brought back, but you never know. I imagine when business picks up again, they’d bring employees back as business levels dictate. However, I don’t think everyone will be brought back at the same time.
In a way, I think it’s good that this is happening to everyone at the same time, rather than staggered layoffs. If they did the staggered layoffs, and were able to keep things functioning, they’d probably be less inclined to bring everyone back in the future.
However, still wish this didn’t have to happen at all.

From the USA LV website. Not sure if this is just online purchases.
RETURNS & EXCHANGES
We have extended our returns and exchanges window to 45 days. Please click here for more details.
Thanks for this! I checked yesterday morning and the night before and there were no updates then. The policy applies the same for online as well as stores.

All LV stores in Canada are now temporarily closed as well.

I’m glad, and I don’t know why malls are still open.

I haven’t been outside except to drop off a few packages with dress samples that need to be returned and to bring out the trash yesterday. Doing OK so far, being a homebody works in my advantage!

I do have have a bag in limbo because my store ordered something for me and it was in transit from the warehouse to the store, not sure what will happen to it. Edit: store says bag may not have shipped yet, so it will just sit at the warehouse until it can be shipped. I’ll take this as a part of the celebration when this whole situation is over!

I would let that person that you talked to know were wrong or should check the updated policy!
I certainly would have told that clueless rep off but I ended up believing him/her and was kinda annoyed that LV wasn't willing to be more accomodating when they didn't even issue an advanced notice of store closures...and wouldn't even make an effort to make adjustments due to the circumstances so I ended the chat. Also don't know who it was as there was no name...just said Louis Vuitton...maybe it was a bot..

Client services is notorious for not knowing s***
Yes! I try to avoid contacting them at all costs unless absolutely necessary and wouldn't have resorted if they had updated their site earlier.

You are aware that to „shop online“ there are people that have to work so that stock is presented and uploaded on the website, pack your order at the point of shipping, bring your order to your door...

Just because you don‘t have to leave your house to shop doesn‘t mean other people are not being put at higher risks because of the orders you are placing.

A member stated just a few posts above yours that her husband is a delivery driver. I cannot imagine the fear she has for him, having to go to work every day. I feel utterly privileged that my husband can work from home at the moment. And I think we should definitely think twice in these difficult times before ordering anything. What is really so essential that it couldn‘t wait for a few weeks to maybe spare a lot of people from a lot of pain?
+1 Thank you @AmbrosiaL and @LV_4ever for your understanding :hugs:.
I really sympathize with you since your husband is definitely in the thick of it with sick people constantly in the ER.
Thank you for saying this @AmbrosiaL -my thoughts exactly. I'm the member who posted about her husband being a UPS driver. This week he is on vacation. But, next week he has to deliver probably what will be comparable to Christmas volume. I just have my faith to go on. But, he will be completely exposed everyday all day and I don't have any control over it. These big corporations like UPS have no problem sending workers into this chaos. Not surprised because UPS is greedy and ignorant.

Private and public schools are now closed until April 15th. I don't know what people are going to do for childcare! The pre-school/daycare my son went to when he was little was surprisingly still open today. My younger son is 16 and I just told him Now, I'm going to be your teacher. You're going to learn map and globes skills (which sadly Americans are very poor at) and History from wayyyy before the year 2000! Imagine that! Plus, Intro to French and Latin. He was like Nooooooooo!!!!

I guess it depends on where you're at. Public and private schools resume school again on March 30 (contingent on if things change) where I live. We are currently on spring break. But, I doubt this date will stand because there have already been multiple cases reported and the hospital/ER is being inundated right now in my town. Such a joke to me. I don't think realistically our kid's will go back in 2 weeks at this point.
