For the perfect black bag!

After my two Antigona fails I am debating among a medium black goatskin nightingale, a medium lucrezia, or a chloe paraty.

Unfortunately, the Paraty is the only one close enough for me to try on. If it had silver or gunmetal hardware, it would be perfect.

I also like the Lucrezia. However I've read a lot of previous posts and I'm worried that if the medium Antigona was too big than the Lucrezia may be too. I like the shoulder strap drop and that the handles aren't fixed.

I love the Nightingale and its slouch, but am worried that the shoulder drop may not be long enough. As am a mom of two little ones, I need to be hands free quite often.

Any advice or other bags I should add to my list? I was hoping to stay around $2000 but am willing to pay up to $2500 to find exactly what I'm looking for. Day to evening is preferred.

The Pandora looks nice as well but a little too trendy for me. Looking for a bag that I can use for years to come!

I am a mom of two youngsters too and my hands are very important to keep free.

I have small and medium Ants, and medium Gales. I can wear all of them with my kids.

The med Ant and Gale hold about the same amount. Do you want a structured or slouchy bag? I love both styles. The gales are what I can take when traveling. Very easy for travel cuz they are so smooshy. My Ants always stay home.

The Ant's strap stays on my shoulder better cuz it is more narrow. The Gale strap is wider and helps distribute the weight of an extra heavy load.

I am 5'4" and don't find the medium bags to be overwhelming.

The medium Luc is a great bag and will hold just as much I think. The strap is super comfy as the weight disbributor also has a little padding inside. It has an even more classic shape as it is reminiscent of a boston style bag. The body is soft and comfortable to wear. Yes, the folding handles are nice b/c it doesn't stick under your arm. If I find the right style of Luc, I would like to get one. I have tried a couple of them. Beautiful bags but the two styles I tried were more dressy than my normal daily outfit. Need to find a slightly more casual feeling Luc so I don't feel the need to dress up for the bag

Good luck with your decision!

PS, just saw your comment about the Panda. I just got my first medium Panda this year. LOVE it!!!! Holds a TON! I don't feel they are too trendy cuz where I live, you will literally never see one. I had to go to the other side of the State to finally see one in the wild.

I really am leaning towards the Nightingale. I love its delicious looking leather and slouch.

What leather do you prefer for this style? I am looking at two bags at Barney's and besides the difference in leather and hardware, the measurements are also different. Should I go with goatskin for durability?

The gale is definitely the most worry-free of the bunch. I literally never worry about it and I am super OCD with my bags. Both bags look to be mediums. BNY is one of the worst at not accurately labeling or describing their bags.

I always choose the goatskin b/c I am a sliver hw lover. The goatskin leather starts very soft and supple and gets softer. It is pretty hardy. I have collected Balenciagas for years and know that lambskin is INSANELY soft as it breaks in but is a bit more delicate. However, I think you will be super happy with either leather. I have felt a super soft lambskin gale and it is T...D...F!

Your decision maker may be what color hw you prefer. Makes it easy.

Once you have decided on your bag, I would suggest Collonil Waterstop spray. I use it on all my Gbags. Takes about 5-6 days to totally dry. You cannot tell any difference in feel or appearance, but it does give extra protection from water/liquids.

HTH!

If you love the slouch the Lucrezia is not what you are looking for. I purchased the medium size when they first became available and it is still very structured. It holds a lot, similar to my medium Antigona. Sounds to me like the Nightingale or Pandora is perfect for you. Both options are lovely, personally I like the Pandora a little better...very laid back unique bag. As far a trendy...it is been around for quite some time and I don't think it is going anywhere.
