Has anyone encountered an issue with their bags become sticky around the edges? I have the large quilted leather wallet on a chain and it is sticky around the edges (mostly on the side and along the envelope closure). I purchase it in June of last year! I do wear it fairly frequently but I haven't done anything out of the ordinary and it is not a daily bag. Just for going out or things like basketball/hockey games. No beer spilled though (lol).

I know I can bring it in to YSL but it is odd to me as there isn't any glazing as such (the stickiness reminded me of issues LV had in the past). Is there some kind of clear glazing or coating that is on the edges that could become sticky? Has anyone noticed anything like this? Should I try cleaning it with something before I bring it in? This is my only non-LV bag and I am not that familiar with their after care services, nor is the store as conveniently located to my house :( I can get there it's just more of a hassle. No pics because it literally looks fine, just sticky to the touch. TIA!!

Okay so my CA said that repairs are covered for free for 2 years. Usually things like popped stitches, cracked glazing or any kind of malfunction that should not happen.
After that, they will still take in items for repair, there will just be a fee.
This covers for all YSL flagship stores as well as any Saint Laurent stores inside department stores like Saks, Bloomingdale’s, etc.

Hope that helps!

My oldest and most worn YSL bag is the envelope bag in the same material. It is 6 years old and doesn’t have that issue.
I don’t think that is normal, bring it to the YSL store and hopefully they will replace it (I don’t think that is something that is easily fixed).

I emailed the CA I purchased from. I bought it on vacation of course. I’ll see what he says first, maybe he knows.

I've yet to have this happen with my WOC/ any YSL, but it happened with every LV I've had. I've had to clean them well and then re- glaze, though I wouldn't recommend doing that yourself if you're not comfortable or if you plan to re-sell. You may want to consult with YSL before you attempt anything-my biggest advice is put it up and away from dust and hair. I bought a used LV that was getting sticky to repair and it was covered in hair and fuzzies. I had to do some major work on it

I just boxed it up and shipped it out. I felt it again to make sure and it's definitely prominent. It looks a little worn around the parts where it's sticky too. I am hoping they can just clean it somehow and make it no longer sticky. I doubt they would replace it, it's probably my fault somehow?

Update! They are replacing the bag - I am surprised! Here is their response:
We’ve received your bag and it has been assessed. As an exception, we will exchange your piece for a new one.

I am not sure why it is so vague (no details) or an exception, but I hope it doesn't happen again!
