Statement necklace, should I buy this one?

Hi all,

I found a really nice chunky necklace online and the measurements of the bib are: 4” x 7”. I was wondering if it’s a nice one and I should get it, or it will be too chunky. Here’s a pic of it: http://i45.tinypic.com/2crkbom.jpg

If you say I should get it, please let me know:

1) What should I pair it with?
2) Will it look nice with a one shoulder/sleeveless top?
3) Should I wear my hair up? Or down?
4) Should I wear it to a formal event or I can wear it on a regular shopping day, too? You know, with a simple sweater or something.

It looks like a dramatic piece, so I think you should wear it with something simple. A low-neck top would be nice. I think one shoulder/sleeveless/off shoulder tops are fine. I think you can wear it both during the day and at night, depending on what you wear it with. Perhaps on a shopping day with jeans, and a simple off shoulder top.

How long is your hair and how do you usually wear it?

pretty necklace but i'd prefer if those 3 big black stones at the bottom were a tad smaller. they look huge compared to all the other smaller stones.

i wouldn't wear it with a one shoulder top because it might get in the way of the necklace. you can wear your hair up or down- doesn't really matter. and i think you could certainly wear it casually.

Thanks to both of you :-)

I showed the picture to my husband and he was like oh no, the black stones look like cockroaches!!!!

I have dark long hair and usually use curling iron on it...

Oh, I like it, I saw a few similar by different designers.
I think you can wear it with your hair up or down, casually or with a strappless evening/coctail dress. As others said, keep the rest of the outfit simple otherwise it could be "too much".

I like it, I don't think it would look good with a one shouldered top though, the big necklace and paired with the asymmetry would bother me.

I think you can wear it casually or to dress up.

I usually wear my hair down (just dont like mine up) and I wear statement necklaces with it down, I think it would look nice either way though.

:yahoo:Congratulations! It's awesome. I would wear it with a simple black 'beautiful t-shirt' (not those plain baggy ones, but a tight fitting, high quality one). Don't go 'one shoulder'. It might be too much.

Enjoy wearing it and I look forward seeing the 'in action' pics!
