My birthday is coming and I would like to treat myself, ideally would like to get something timeless and easy to use.

I have never purchased any VCA and love the Frivole large earrings but feel like its not as classic. I also love Alhambra but worried about the the fragility of the stones. Ideally would like to get a set and have a collection down the line.

What would you get if you had 10k usd to spend?

Buying jewelry is such a personal choice and one that is often dictated by passion for just the right piece that steals your heart. Are you more of an earring person versus necklace or bracelet? For me, I feel that bracelets and necklaces are a great way to start a collection and they may have more visual impact than a pair of earrings. My hair is long, so earrings would not feel as impactful to me as a starting point. But you should definitely choose something that suits Your own heart's desire. For necklace options, would you consider pave vintage Alhambra pendant? Other necklaces options to consider might be a 10 motif Alhambra in your favorite stone or the frivole pendant. There are a number of bracelet options to consider including sweet Alhambra diamond bracelet which looks quite lovely on (but is just a tad over the 10k mark.), Perlee signature bracelet, VA bracelets in your favorite stone. Do not worry too much about stones being fragile. Many are more resilient than you might think and can always be replaced down the line if need be. Definitely go for the piece you love since it will bring you joy for years to come. I can't wait to hear where you decide to start your collection! Happy shopping!

Jewelry is so subjective and highly personal. I think it depends on several factors especially if this piece is for you to admire or for others to admire. If for others then definitely earrings or necklac. If for you then bracelets or ring should be first piece. You must think about what you want your VCA journey to be and go from there. For example if plan to get items from both Frivole & Alhambra lines then get the piece that makes you smile the most because the other piece will come eventually. Have you tried few items to see which you loved?

I love both Frivole and Alhambra and have been slowly working on sets of both. My first piece was the YG MOP Alhambra pendant. I loved it so much that I later added the 2 motif earrings, a bracelet, and the rest was history!

You mentioned the fragile nature of some of the stones. Yes, you need to remove certain Alhambra jewelry before showering, pool, etc, but honestly in my case, I do that anyway--I do not normally wear any jewelry to the beach or in the bath, so for me this is not too inconvenient. Anything solid metal or diamond (ie pave or hammered pieces) will not have this issue.

However, what to pick is so personal and depends a lot on your preferences and what you think you will enjoy wearing most. Have you had a chance to go to a boutique and try some pieces on yet? If not, maybe that will help you decide!

If you do try things on but do not find that they have exactly what you are looking for in stock (ie they have the Alhambra earrings you like, but in a different stone or the wrong metal), then you can ask whichever SA you are working with to help you place an order.

I have the large Frivole earrings. They are gorgeous statement earrings. Definitely worth it. Check out my IG with the same handle—I have some pics of it.

Thank you everyone for your answers.
I believe, i am more an earring person, barely wear my watch, bracelets or even wedding ring. I also feel like in the cold weather, when i wear layers its easier to have an earring and make the outfit more polished, as mostly my necklaces bracelets etc wont be visible. Vca has so many lovely pieces i feel like its a dangerous way to go!

Yes, agree! My first piece was the sweet Alhambra watch which is a statement piece and unexpected. I love it and still do. I’ve added other pieces that are more classic but am glad I didn’t compromise on my first purchase.
