Stacking Your Diamond Solitaire Necklace

I was hoping for some opinions (and pictures) on stacking your diamond solitaire. Do you wear it alone or stack it? If you stack, what type of necklaces do you stack it with?

Following with interest as I’d love to layer my solitaire (just under a carat - .99) but can’t seem to do it elegantly. I have another bezel set solitaire (Roberto Coin, half a carat) which looks more casual and is therefore easier to match with other pendants and chains.

I'm not a big necklace person and not big on layering either.

I have a small solitaire diamond, I think 0.24 or 0.28 carat? It is my everyday piece that I literally never take off and I love it.
However, I rarely ever layer another necklace with it.
On occasion, I have a gold letter necklace with the letter "L" that I will layer with it, it drops down a few inches lower than the diamond, is bigger in size and in terms of style and position, doesn't compete with the diamond solitaire.

I'll take a photo when I get home later today.

I don't have a solitaire necklace, but I do have a very dainty "S" diamond WG necklace that I pair/stack with my YG Cartier 2-diamond Love necklace. I wear it like that almost everyday (unless I'm dressed really casual). I love how it looks together.

I never wear more than one necklace or bracelet at a time. It looks messy and detracts from the beauty of a single piece. IMO, layering and stacking are the equivalent of an overly furnished or accessorized house. You don’t know where to look first. NMS
