What do you all think of the dreadful styles we are seeing for spring? Louboutin is still holding on to the SK, but Irizas are 100mm Max, no HC over 100mm, and lots of pretty ugly stuff. What we are seeing in the fashmags is FLAT and dumpy.

Well, I’m glad I am not the only one! Some of the offerings from most of the designers now are reminiscent of the worst of the 1970s.

I remember asking my mother, “why are you wearing such ugly shoes? You always looked so classy.”

I agree. It's not just CL, but most other shoe brands as well. I dislike the shoes that are "in style" now.

It may be intentional.
This year is shot. So is next year, all due to COVID-19.
This is no time to come with glamorous designs. People are suffering.
The ugly styles reflect the ugly mood.
I would not want to introduce my winning designs in such a year.
This is no different than delaying the release of the James Bond movie.
I bet that as soon as COVID is over, we are going to see a spike in ultra glamorous fashion.
People will want to celebrate at any opportunity. People will want to be seen again, and not in pajamas.

You’ve got a good point, and I hope you are right. Thankfully, the nature of my work allows me to keep my Louboutins in action, but I do realize I am in the minority. When this mess is over, people will want to hit the white linen restaurants and clubs again (if there are any left) and strut into the office!

Unfortunately I don't think its just a fad, like anything fashion goes around in circles, classic stilettoes have been available since about 2003 and its due for a change - remember the 70's and 90's? I rarely see any women wearing stiletto pumps in work hours - and definitely not on the weekends. Two women in the office I work, (in their 30's and 50's) both wear lace up brogues, and other women in the department next door wear trainers/sneakers and ugly flats (not even cute dressy flats)

I see those mules/slides with toes poking out and a block heel are coming back (very 90's,.. yuch) and pumps have a high vamp, stubby toe and a block heel - totally unflattering and makes it look like you have kicked a wall.

There is one plus though, it shows the women that have classic style and not the ones that just follow fashion blindly

Due to Covid19, people (in general) are hurting in terms of disposable income..to support luxury items. I think Louboutin realizes this, so they downgraded their shoe selection. Save energy/creativity for post Covid19

I recently went to the Neiman-Marcus in Topanga Mall (Canoga Park/CA), near where many Hollywood celebrities (and athletes) live. Kardashians, Miley Cyrus (both in Hidden Hills gated community), etc. I was pretty shocked to see how poor the Louboutin display was! Only Hot Chick 100, not even a So Kate! Nothing spectacular that Louboutin is known for. I.e., edgy designs which scream sex and femininity.

I recently acquired a used (like new condition) Eugenie 160 from a NY buyer. See pics. Exceptionally short toe, low cut vamp w/toe cleavage. It's Fuchsia velvet (longer hairs than suede), Swarovski crystals..an EXQUISITE shoe! Got it for only $380 (I could NEVER afford the $1600 MSRP), I assume Covid19 was a reason..needed $$. I was told this shoe was a one-off, never sold to public!

Seller is a collector who gets special invites to Louboutin events. Stilly & Christina2 should be on this "elite invite list", they would be SO deserving to buy/wear these shoes. Their passion/enthusiasm is beyond words. Although, Christina2 has made some incredible verbage, that reflects her fanaticism!!

Beautiful velvet shoes, what a great find!

This was not a one-off and was available to the general public; I actually recall this style going on sale that season.

Either way, a beautiful throw-back to his more inspired years versus what he pushes out now.

Agreed!

Thanks for the feedback. I looked at the box, with the label "Eugenie 160"..it sure looks like it was a production shoe!

Louboutin boutiques always look like a personalized art gallery, not a corporate-owned production house like Jimmy Choo store. Latter now owned by mega corporate Michael Kors, it seems to have lost its original creative spirit. I've been to their stores in Vegas (high-end Crystal mall, Caesar's Palace stores, Beverly Hills/Rodeo Dr, etc), looking for the Anouk..the parallel to the famed Loub Pigalle 120.

Do you know if Louboutin has a staff of designers, he must! Does he still have final approval of *every* style? That Eugienie 160 (and other typical vintage Loub fantastic creations) is so "out there"! I suppose Louboutin styles evolve (as in everything), I wonder if he's burned out creative-wise? I never cease to be amazed to find UNIQUE colors/materials (reflective of short limited runs) of my fave styles on used-market, usually sold! I missed a fuchsia sequined Pigalle 120..so bummed! I just saw a blue sequined Pigalle 120. See pic. I am the proud owner of a fuchsia (custom) strassed Pigalle 120, recently acquired. See pic

I HAVE seen some really fab styles recently, I simply don't keep track of the recent/yearly releases (I need to start doing this!). See pics of the 100 heels, black sheer mesh. NOT available in 120, this indicates Louboutin seems to be losing interest in ultra high heels he is famous for (120 and 130). Drag queen Violet Chachki (friends with Louboutin and Dita von Teese..famed Louboutin model) has said "a birdy told me NO MORE 130 from Louboutin"! Wow, bummer..

That Anemone 120 (Pigalle 120 cut) was just SO AMAZING!! Vintage Louboutin pushing the limits. See pic. There is a version of it in Pigalle Follies Strass 120, I believe it was just a one-off (demo). WANT!!

We must remember that these Pre-releases do not always include the prettier models than the design for the entire collection ... there are many precious pieces in the spring 2021 collection ... if you do a small market study within their releases of Spring on the official website ... you will find that many of them are already SOLD OUT ☺️

Beautiful shoes! I definitely need something similar.
