I've seen it mentioned that jewelry pieces worn ought to be complementary in style, more so than matching metals, but I seem to have two different types of jewelry to which I'm drawn: modern, bold, white metal pieces or dainty, feminine rose gold pieces. The bolder pieces are pieces that I've had for forever and am still acquiring as I can't quite resist them; however, my wedding set is the latter and I've been gravitating towards daintier designs periodically as well.

I love both styles, but was wondering how to make a look cohesive with my older pieces while wearing my wedding set. Anyone else have split jewelry personalities? How do you put it together with daily wear pieces like a wedding set?

I definitely have a split personality for jewelry - I try to match shapes or secondary colours (enamel, watch dial etc) if I can't match all metals. So Chanel pearl necklace with Tiffany silver bead bracelet, and stainless watch or stainless watch with gold necklace and bracelet. I don't do rings, but if I did, that would complicate things as gold on the same hand would clash with the watch. Guess I have to go platinum for left hand rings or get a new gold watch.
