Sperone Backpack in DA - Opinions?

Hi everyone!

I just ordered the Sperone backpack (larger one, not the BB) and will be picking it up in store this weekend (yay)!

Wanted to get your feedback on this bag. I am a sucker for backpacks and the DA print - and this is my first DA bag.

I am aware of the dangers - corners peeling, color transfer to the bag... This bag will be very lightly used and weekends only and I plan to be aware of it when I do carry.

For those of you who have one - what else should I be aware of? Any issues with patina, stitching, how it holds up to use over time, should I get an insert, etc...?

I don't have a Sperone but I have the Clapton backpack which is another backpack with the sharp corners. The corner wear is what concerns me the most, it's not just peeling but for some people their corners wear down all the way to the lining inside.
I haven't had this issue with my Clapton (yet, though hopefully never), I liked the bag enough to take a chance and deal with the corner wear if it happens but if you plan on using this as a daily bag, that's what my concern would be. Since you're planning on using it as a weekend bag, as long as you're aware of (and accept) the risk I think it's a very pretty backpack.

Oof - good to know about the wear. I plan to try it on and really look it over before buying. I can accept eventual wear but not sure about wearing all the way to the lining. Hoping to get a nice SA when I pick it up and can ask about how often they see something like that.

Since it is weekend/sunny weather/light duty use only, hoping to get a good life out of it.

I can’t comment on long term wear for the corners but I’ve had a DA bag for 7 years and no color transfer to date. My mom also just got this backpack and she’s in love with it. She plans to use it as an every day bag because she’s normally rocking some sort of backpack.

Hi,

How do you like your sperone backpack? I’m trying to decide between this or the Montsouris. The sperone is larger and think it would be a great summer bag.

well I got the bag about a week before our shelter in place began. I haven’t had the chance to carry yet but I do take it out and look at it lovingly on a regular basis :P

I can tell it will be a great bag! Holds a lot and weighs very little. DA print is stunning. I rarely see anyone in my area carrying a this bag so looking forward to taking it out when we can start being out and about again!

My mom has used hers every day since she got it...she’s not really going anywhere besides my house to hers. So she loves it. The size is great for every day use. It’ll fit all your essentials plus.
