Speedy or montsouris?

Since nothing is in stock at my store, I’m having a hard time choosing from an every day bag. I’m considering a speedy 25, montsouris pm or bb. I carry small pair of sunglasses, mini pochette, zippy coin purse, keys, a few other small things and usually a diaper or two with a few wipes. I would like the montsouris bb but am worried it’s going to be too small. However also worried that the pm will be too big for everyday, and it doesn’t have removable straps.

Insight from anyone who has these bags would be appreciated!

It’s buried in the montsouris thread, but I posted a “how to” make the mm size a crossbody and shoulder bag. You can probably find it by searching the site, or going through my post history…

For what you’re looking to carry, speedy 25 may just be “perfect,” as in little to no extra space. I wouldn’t use a speedy organizer, because it will take up what precious space you have. Speedy 30 would work for what you want, and you can use an organizer for it too. I highly suggest you get the bandouliere version.

Montsouris PM works well too. If your kid isn’t exactly a toddler yet, and you don’t like the idea of bringing multiple bags, Mont. PM will work well for the future too. Kids will ask their mom to carry food and toys, trust me. My sis and I always asked our mom, even if we had our own bags. Speedy 25 will be too small once your kid is at that age.

Personally, I get more use out of my Speedy b25 than my Mont. PM. I’m not really a backpack person. If I do use one, I prefer one that’s closer to the BB size. I live in a city, so I’m paranoid whenever I use a larger backpack. If I were a mom, I would use Mont. more. I always preferred handsfree when I babysat.

Thanks for your feedback! My kids are 4 and 2 so I’m passed the stage of having to bring the whole house with me lol. But yes, usually just a diaper and some wipes plus a couple of snacks. I’m a minimalist and don’t want anything bulky. My pm is arriving tomorrow so I guess I’ll have to see it in a person. I have a feeling it’s going to be too big for my needs though

Vintage older model Montsouris PM will wear better than new model ones, if have to choose new model montsouris vs speedy, I would choose speedy, wears much better.

if you don't worry about the wear on the bag of montsouris, bb is a better buy than pm

I meant to say “pm.” You can make the PM size a shoulder and crossbody bag. You’ll need a bandeau to finish the crossbody style nicely, or else it’ll look ugly.

What do you mean by wears better?

also I’ve been kind of nervous about things falling out of the montsouris bb. The zipper on the speedy would be reassuring
