Speedy or Métis?

Speedy b 35 will hold a lot more than Métis. Some don’t like the larger speedy with the bandoulière either. I can’t speak to that - my speedy b is a 30 and my speedy 35 is original. Sometimes I wish it had the strap though. I think that it’s a super functional bag - it really holds a lot. I take the bag shaper out and use it as my carry on and it holds a surprising amount (spare clothes for kids, snacks for the long flight, chargers, iPads, makeup, toiletries, etc). Not that we’re traveling now. But to give you an idea.
I had speedy b 25 and exchanged it for Alma PM. Didn’t like small opening. Speedy 35 is too big for me. I love my Metis though and I think opening is very easy. It holds much more then it looks.
If the Métis opening annoys you, I’d say forgo it for the Speedy. I think the bags are very different. The Speedy B 30 stuck too far off my hip as a crossbody so I sold mine.

I do not own a Speedy 35 but I do own a 25 and it’s the perfect size for me (as a cross body, tote and shoulder bag). There is more than enough space to hold my essentials, plus a jacket if needed.
I do not a Pochette Métis but I do own a Coach Cassie which is very similar in style to the PM. It’s a great, no-fuss bag for carrying the essentials.
If you need more space, I’d say go with a Speedy, but if you need a bag for carrying just the essentials, I’d go with the PM.
Or if you want the best of both worlds and your budget allows, I’d highly recommend getting the Speedy and the Coach Cassie since you’d get all the features of the PM, at a fraction of the cost.

I have both the Speedy b35 (DE) and pochette metis (mono).
Between the b35 and metis, I grab the metis more although I don't love mono and I also have an annoying lock (have to fit just the right amount for it to work without fuss).
The metis just compliments my body type better and I reach for it more (not too big not too small) whereas the b35 is too big. If I had my SA at the time she would have told me to get a 30 instead.
Still love my b35 even if it doesn't compliment me well, it's such a good size as a diaper bag or travel bag

I like speedy more, as I put my stuff into small pouches, and bring a water bottle, covid essentials, reusable paper bag, and gloves(winter in Canada), scarf when I go to Costco(too warm to wear a scarf). Metis is way too small for me.
It looks great on you! I also have a Speedy B 35 (in DE print) and love the size. I use mine all of the time.
When I first got the Métis I thought it was too small but now I’ve downsized and could go smaller. Really crazy how that works. But my shoulder and neck doesn’t hurt anymore so I personally need to keep my bags small, otherwise I’ll carry everything I own with me. The speedy was too awkward for me and gets too heavy but if it’s not awkward for you to carry I would go for it
