Speedy DE Quality Advice

I really want a Speedy 30 in DE print but I'm reluctant to spend the money on a brand new one because I am worried about the quality of newer LV bags. I have the Speedy 25 in MC made in 2002 and there are no cracks or even scratches on it. Quality is amazing.

I've read a lot about the poor quality on newer LV items especially the Neverfull in DE.

Is anyone experiencing any cracks or problems with the Speedy DE?

I bought mine in 2011. My Speedy DE looks brand new. Hope that helps.

The NF is definitely a problem-ridden bag. So as long as you stick to Speedy you will be fine.

Yeah I already have the Neverfull in DE and (touch wood) it's still like new and I bought that 7 years ago.

I am saving up for the Speedy 30 so hopefully it will make an appearance soon.

I got my first Speedy in 1997 ( mono print). I got a DE classic Speedy 30 in October of last year. I notice zero difference in terms of quality. Please note I've been buying LV canvas bags since 1997. I adore my DE Speedy and use it a lot. I highly recommend getting this beautiful bag.

Awww...thank you for sharing. I feel less worried about spending the money on a Speedy DE now.
Would you (by any chance) know if the handles on the Speedy 30 are longer than they are on the 25?

You're welcome! Unfortunately I don't know if the handle of the 25 and 30 are the same. My mono was a 25 and I found the opening too small and for this reason my DE is a 30. I consider the 30 to be the perfect size, at least for me. For reference I'm 5'3 and 105#. It's casual and dressy and plenty roomy without appearing too large. I love everything about it.

I bought my Speedy B 30 DE last August and have used it frequently. It is of good quality. However, a little bit of the pattern on one portion of the canvas (bottom corner) has worn off with use. So, I am conscious of how I set my bag down now. Other than that it's just fine. If the bag had feet this wouldn't be an issue, but I suppose it's meant to be a very simple design.

Thanks. I never put my handbags in the floor. Either on a chair or my lap. Reason being that I put my handbags on the bed when I switch them so I don't want outside dirt on my bed.
I am just a bit conscious because some Speedy DE sold on eBay (not very old ones) and from what some people have mentioned seem to have ripped canvas which was quite shocking to see/read. I don't know how they use their bags but I'm worried that there'll be damage despite being very careful with my bags. I just want it to last.

I really don't see my canvas ripping - that would be if you're really careless with the bag. I don't put my bags on the floor either so I'm not sure how the pattern got a bit worn, but oh well. It happens to most bags over time anyway. I use this one as a workhorse - it's not something I will preserve in a glass case the way I might want to treat something that's limited edition or very expensive. I think it will last a while!

My first bag was a speedy m 25 and still love it for date night etc. then I got a noe petit in monogram which is like a over the shoulder bucket bag with a drawstring, great bad!! My most recent purchase is another speedy... I LOVE my new azur speedy 30! My next purchase will likely be a speedy b in damier print... LV is such an addiction but I've read a lot about new bag quality issues.. I've not experienced anything bad yet.

Those are the exact orders I have and am purchasing my bags. I have a 2002 Speedy 25 in Mono and at the beginning of this year I purchased the Petit Noe (old model) in Mono. Last week I bought the Speedy 30 in DA and for my Birthday I am going to buy the Speedy B 30 in DE. So exciting and indeed an addiction lol =)
