So I’ve now written off the Keepall 45. I feel that the leather strips undernesth the bag will get damaged during travelling and I’ll also be limited on when I can use the bag. As a result I’m now looking at the Speedy B but I’m just not sure what size. I’d like a big enough bag that I can use for travel but also not so big that I can’t use it everyday. Also not sure on the print? I already have the Neverfull in the Damier Ebene RB lining but thinking the monograms handles etc may tarnish easier?

Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you!

How tall are you and how much do you carry? For travel I would choose 30b and I’m 5’2 and I would want it big enough to carry a thin scarf of sweater and a book, etc. If I was 5’7 or taller I would go for a 35b. That’s just me. Consider what you will put in it.

I have a Speedy B 30 in monogram and use it for travel and everyday. I am careful with my bags so the vachetta has a nice, even patina. If you look closely, the handles have a couple of light spots. I am very careful with my bags but I decided that they are not museum pieces and if they get little marks or stains I am going to learn to cope with it. ;)

I am 5 ft tall and the 30 looks fairly big on me but really fits everything I would want to carry on a plane including my inflatable neck pillow, umbrella if needed and a few snacks. I can even fit a few of my DH’s small things if requested. It’s probably one of my favorite bags for a mall/shopping trip also as it fits so much that I don’t have to worry about having items outside my bag and leaving them somewhere. I don’t think that I could carry a 35 everyday. I am glad that I have a 30 and not a 25 though so if you are taller you might prefer the 35.

I suggest 35B. you have young kids and also intend to use it when traveling. Considering you had contemplated the 45 keepall, you might find 30 to be a bit small. I am 5’ 7” and returned my 30 for 35. When I bought my speedy, they didn’t offer the ones with straps yet. So I am envious of everyone that has the strapped version.good luck!

if you only wanted it for everyday, i would say the 30 because it looks better crossbody, but if you have 2 small kids and want to use it for travel as well, i'd go for the 35 because it sounds like you would really use and appreciate that extra space. i used to love the 35, then went down to the 30 and 25 for everyday, but for travel the 35 would definitely be best imo. oh and as for the pattern, the ebene is more carefree but i definitely prefer the monogram and the vachetta strap is ultimately softer and more comfortable than the ebene. i'd get the mono and not stress over the vachetta.

Thanks for the replies! I'm 5'4" with 2 young kids (one is in nappies) so I'll be using it for their stuff when travelling and day to day too.
Mine is speedy 35. Yes the old version without strap but I add strap on it. I order it when I was pregnant with my first daughter 10 years ago. It was my baby bag and became my travel bag with 2 kids. Now I no longer carry nappies but still carry snack, water bottles, books, barbie, wipes beside my personal stuff. I think size 35 is good for me. Good luck on deciding. ;)

I am also the same height as you 5’4 and I carry the 35 classic speedy as an everyday bag all the time. The 30 is too tight fitting once I add a a bulky scarf or sweater and the 40 looks like luggage. Straps or no straps is personal preference as I love to hand carry now but seeing you have children having the option is nice. The challenge is to find a strap that is th right length, width, and softness that is to your liking. That is why I have switched to top handles with VVN only as I just find it more comfortable as it is softer and fits my grip better. Good luck. This decision may warrant an in-person visit to the store to try it out.

I bought my mon mono 35b for airline travel but it’s also great as am everyday bag. I have the Keepall 45 as well but it really is much larger - too large to carry daily, IMO. My Keepall’s & NF’s are for land travel and my Speedy is for air travel. (I’m 5’9”)
