I have become somewhat of a gym rat these days and following the pandemic, my gym won't do our laundry anymore. I used to buy a workout outfit for the season to keep at the gym but without the laundry service, I need to bring a change of clothes with me. I can still store my sneakers and toiletries in my cubby though.

Since we're talking about just clothing and not shoes and toiletries, I was thinking about buying a pre-owned Speedy 40 or 45 to use as a gym bag. Does anyone use their larger speedies like this? Thoughts?

Also, I am debating between finding one in relatively good condition or buying one with the intention of getting all of the leather/hardware replaced. I would also like your thoughts on that since I have never put in a repair order to that extent.

Thanks!

I've never bought preowned but have had all leather and hardware replaced on an elderly GM Neverfull I used very very hard. It was a few hundred dollars and the bag is still a workhorse, looks great. This was a few years before covid, but I just took it to the store, asked them to replace everything and it was back in maybe two months or so, looking great, ready to last at least another 15 years.

@Gimmethebag ......If u plan on using specifically for a gym bag, have you considered the Monogram Evasion/Sport Bag? It has a special separate compartment for shoes/dirty items, separate from the other sections. It's discontinued , but easy to find on ebay or FP:
