I went into Tiffany's today with a friend as she is just starting her engagement ring search to see what she likes and I came across this setting that I have never seen before after all these years of visiting (or maybe I am just blind). It was a 4.5 carat G VS1 six prong basket setting that costs $439,500 CAD. I have never seen anything like it, it's six prong but the prongs are also placed differently than a normal Tiffany Setting would, and there are also paved diamonds on the side of the very thin band. The sales rep told me that they only do this on larger stones, at least 3+ carats. I am aware that for some of the larger stones they do something special to the setting, like the Tiffany Legacy if you go up to a specific carat weight then there are even stones on the side of the band? But this looked so amazing I couldn't take my eyes off it.
