Sorry that you had bad experience..

I got snubbed once in LV counter at Neiman Marcus..well not really snubbed just the SA wasn't that accomodating. She just showed me the bag and didn't say anything. She seemed bored and wasn't really into it. I was just moved to this city at the time. I am used to all friendly SAs in Hawaii..come on..I could do better job than her..honestly..

Don't give up, there are so many nicer SA out there.. I think to be a nice SA, the person is actually a nice person to begin with..

Kee the bandeau..what bandeau is it??

Im sorry you had a bad experience.
Im going to NYC for spring break, I hope i have a good time at the LV stores!

I totally know what hlfinn is talking about! I was at the SoHo store yesterday and after I walked in, the SA by the door cut me off in mid-sentence once I told her what I was there for and told me to go downstairs. Fine. I found an SA to help me there and she seemed okay and found the manager to look over my wallet, which had a torn card slot. I wasn't impressed with that SA, though, b/c she didn't want to let me look inside the Petit Noe or the Noe because the manager was filling out my paperwork. I wasn't keeping him waiting or anything, though. I dunno- that store doesn't give me a good vibe, and I'm going to go to 57th St. from now on, or Bloomingdale's, once I get my wallet back.

My friend said that downtown stores with uptown flagship locations are often hit or miss with the quality of service.

Wow....sorry about your experience. I've had mediocre service from more than one boutique...even with my preferred boutiques, it's really a hit-and-miss because sometimes the people can have an underlying apathy (you know, when you can't say someone was mean but you don't feel good about the experience in the end...Oh yeah, I don't have an SA, so I'm not guaranteed a good experience).

Keep the bandeau, and feel better! And you should report this yucky behavior.

hlfinn - I'm so sorry about your experience, I've had my share as well. It's so true that it totally depends on your SA. If the SA is having an off day or is just a rude person then it shows when she is helping customers.

I'll check your other thread about the heat stamping.
The champs elysees bandeau is beautiful..congrats!
Love the twillys for the Noe...do you think the Noe will grow on you? I'd give it a bit of time...it can be an acquired love...

the leather good manager in soho was very sweet i will say! she and i chatted a bit. there was another SA down there who was pretty nice too, we were talking about the azur speedys.

oh and for whoever was looking for those gold heels- they had them out at the soho store...

bagsnbags: That reminds me of one time years ago when my then-bf (now DH) and I were at Saks and we happened to be buying a Prada bag (sorry, not an LV story, but still relative to topic) and the way the Prada area was set up is that the purses are in this alcove area but you can basically help yourself and look at whatever bags are on display. Then, you find an SA (not exclusive to Prada, just handbags in general), and they take your bag and go to the Prada closet and pull out a new one and take out the dustbag and other accoutrements, etc.

Anyway, when she got everything together, she took us to the register. And while she was putting the bag in the dustbag, I could tell she was a little distracted, like she was watching someone. I thought maybe someone was shoplifting?? Next thing we knew, she LEAPED (I'm not kidding!) to the other side of the register in front of another SA and said to another customer, "Ma'am, I'll be right with you. I'm just finishing up over there."

My now-DH just kind of looked at me and said, "Whoa. I guess they work on commission here. They should post a sign that says 'Beware of sharks'!" I had to laugh. But the whole thing was so disturbing that I almost didn't want to finish the transaction. Almost. But of course I really wanted the bag and by then she was already ringing up the sale. Isn't that crazy?

I think that was the last time we bought a designer bag from a department store. Now we only shop at the boutiques or eluxury. Usually the SA's are nice (but yes, there are exceptions!) and you just have to find your match!

Anyway, keep the bandeau!!!

It's too bad you had a bad experience with a very rude SA. She must be really tired of working at LV with a bad attitude like that. She needs to go find another job or something!

If you love your bandeau, by all means, keep it!!!

Oh!! Lucky that LV SAs here in London are mostly nice. Anyway, I never get any LV Boxes when purchased any bags. They always put 2 bag up and down together ( and it looks like a box ). Even my most Expensive LV nearly 800 pounds came w/o box. I don't know why?

^

I haven't got any boxes for my UK purchases either, even though I've bought bags of virtually any size there. My Sunglasses came in a box though. IN Oslo however I got a big box even for my scarf purchase O.o

The SAs in London are wonderful (Bond Street). Even tough I've met one once (I think she was called agnes) that was a bit scary, she had these really scary looking lenses that were electric purple. O.o

yeah, i know what you mean.
Some folks seem to have a really really good relationship with their SA.

For me, I kind of float around with my purchasing, no one has impressed me thus far - - I get the feeling they're not really trained to impress, even the managers!

SA's at bloomies are very attentive! always boxed and wrapped nicely!

Macy's male SA's are much nicer than females. Depends though, i just had bad experience with 2 female SA's there in the past. At times I've had to request a box.

57th St LV lets you look around before approaching. Attentive also, they focus on one customer at a time.
