These might be silly questions, but I'll ask them anyway :)

I've been drooling over the new spring scarves and finally decided on the Check It Please scarf. I'll be in New York the first week of Feb and thought I'd get it from there (I live in country with no H so have to do all my shopping while travelling). I looked at the prices from the online boutiques and the vintage scarf is at the moment about 30€ more in the US. Then I remembered that in the US taxes are usually added to the price shown. Is that the case with H, too? How much is this tax in New York? And one more question about the tax: As an EU citizen, would I be able to get a tax refund?

I won't be going to a European country with H until summer, though, so if I want this I'll just have to pay the extra. Unless I can order the scarf by calling a store in Paris? Do they do this and how much would they charge, approximately, for shipping?

And while we're on the subject of scarves... Some months ago there was some discussion about the twilly rings being re-issued (someone had bought them in Germany). I've asked about them in three different stores in three different countries so far (Italy, the UK and Japan) and none of them knew anything about this. But they all said it's possible and just keep asking. Does anyone here have any further info on this? Should I ask from the NYC stores when I'm there?

I can only answer about the shipping from Paris part. The answer is yes, they do ship some items. I recently ordered a belt and a shawl and the shipping was 50 euros. It would probably be less for a small silk scarf, but still quite much. Last week they had not received any of the SS09 scarves; according to another thread Europe will start taking in those in January.

Thanks for the information! I'll forget about ordering it then. It won't be that much cheaper (if at all) so I'd rather have the pleasure of shopping at the store.

Thank you so much for the offer! :) I'll keep that in mind. I'm still hoping someone will be able to answer my questions about the taxes, before I make up my mind on what to do.

Lucky you to get to go to the Paris sale! I'm hoping to make it next year (I mean, in 2010).. If things go as planned I should then be living a lot closer to Paris than I do now.
