I e-mailed Louis Vuitton's customer service to find out if there was a way to get my wallet heatstamped even though I don't live anywhere near a LV store. The got back to me this morning. This is what they had to say:

We would like to thank you for your visit on our web site and your
interest in Louis Vuitton.

One can send in their item for heatstamping to any participating Louis
Vuitton boutique. In your case, I contacted the Chicago Louis Vuitton
boutique to inquire of their instructions. I was advised to inform you
to send in your item with a note that includes your name and full
contact information, particularly a good daytime telephone number. The
note should also include the indication that you are interested in
heatstamping, so that the store can distinguish your package from a
return or repair request. Upon recieving your package, a specialist
within the store will be contacting you to discuss the various design
options that you may choose. There are several fonts, sizes, and
colors, and ideally the store will fax you a sheet for you to choose
among the different options. Please feel free to contact Customer

We are looking forward to your next visit on our web site,

I really want to do it, but I have to admit that I am a little nervous about shipping out such a pricey item. If I do it, I am definitely not going to send it by some cheapo method without insurance.

OMGosh, thank you so much for posting this info!

I think I AM going to do it. First, I'm calling the Chicago store and talking to them in person though. I want to get my small ring agenda heat stamped and feel comfortable sending it via UPS with a tracking # and insurance, but I'd like to get a contact name first.

I was going to wait but the more I thought about it, I'll be there the first week in December and that's probably a super-busy time for them. It was last year -- everytime I walked by the store on Michigan Ave, it was pretty busy.

Thanks again!

You're welcome. Actually you've helped me in a way. As I stated in my previous post, I was bit nervous about shipping my wallet out. The wallet has a lot of sentimental value to me, and I would be so upset if something happened to it. Since you don't seem too worried about sending out your agenda, it makes me feel a little better. Thanks.

You're welcome, too! :flowers:

Are you sending yours to the Chicago store? I called the one on Michigan Ave this morning and talked to the store and got a contact name. I've already printed out my letter and have the agenda boxed and ready to go and just sent a PM to pursegalsf asking if she doesn't mind if I use her great photos because her stamping is exactly what I want.

I'm going to send via UPS on Monday and insure it for $300. I guess the only thing I can think of that could go wrong is that they get the initials crooked or something, but they could do that if I walked into the store with it. :P
