Soho Disco vs Marmont small camera bag

Hi all,

I am trying to decide between a black Soho Disco or a black Marmont camera bag small.

I am looking for a bag that I can use every day, school drop off, work, weekend errands and out to dinner.

Does anyone have both? If so, which do you use most and why?

Camera bag is easier to use as it holds more. I use it more often than disco. Disco is still a great bag which I often use when traveling and sightseeing.

I have both but in different colours (not the Mini Marmont Camera, the regular one)

I find my Soho Disco fits a slight bit more and it's very relaxed leather. I tend to use my Soho Disco more, though if I were to do it again I'd probably buy the Soho Disco in Black & Marmont in the Porcelain Beige, rather than vice versa (a black Marmont and a rose beige Soho Disco, I bought the Marmont first and really wanted a black bag at the time)

In both I can bit a billfold wallet/card case, a coin bag, my iPhone 12 Mini, sunglasses in a soft case/pouch, lip products, mini hand sanitizer, folded masks, and mints. That's really all I carry, though as a must-have. I can also fit the flat card insert from my LV Felicie in the Soho Disco as well.

I'm short so both are longer crossbodies on me, which I personally don't mind but I think it's something to note.

I have both in two colours each. I'd probably pick black disco if I had to pick just one. More practical IMO and probably more durable given the type of leather and no chains etc.

I have a black Disco and a red Marmont. IMO the Disco is more timeless. I also like that one side is logo-less. This gives the wearer the option to be more discrete, or not.

Having had both and sold both, I would actually repurchase the Soho Disco rather than the Marmont camera. Especially now the Disco has been discontinued. I have recently purchased the Coach Dempsey camera bag (pic of Khaki one attached, I got the black one) which is virtually the same as the Disco (but less than half the price!). I prefer the Coach one as it has a removable strap and no zip tassel (which was something i did not like about the Disco). Worth a look if you don't mind a different brand.

I have the disco in black and rose beige . Amazing bags. Holds a lot and light weight.

I've been debating the same thing (I regret not getting these years ago before all the price increases!), but from the research I've done, and from what others have mentioned, here's what I've gathered:

Soho Disco:
- A little more discreet design-wise
- Has a more durable pebbled leather, which I think would be ideal for everyday use.
- I've heard that since it's a bit taller, you can stack/stuff it with items easier

Marmont Small Camera:
- Has the smooth leather which is more prone to scratches - not that it scratches easily! But I am not the type to baby my bags, as I have 3 little ones, so I need something that can handle being tossed around and tugged on.
- I was looking into getting the Marmont more as an evening bag and for going out. With the antiqued gold GGs, chain and quilted look, I think it gives an extra pop to an outfit.
- Since this also has GG quilted on the back, if you want to be a bit more discreet you can wear it so the backside shows.

Hi! I have both and I love both but definitely use the Soho disco a bit more just because the pebbled leather is a bit more durable and I find the look of it more versatile for my wardrobe (which is generally pretty casual). One thing I do not like about the Soho disco is sometimes when I grab the bag by the strap it can flip upside down easily, so if I don't have it closed up items can fall out. It may just be me and the way I handle it though, had happened a handful of times grabbing it in the car ☺️
