Soho Disco for my 1st Gucci? Advice please

Would you recommend a Soho Disco for my first Gucci? I have several big bags and am looking for a smaller one.

HOWEVER, it needs to fit my wallet, which my lovely BF gave me, unless I want to break up with him, which I don't :lolots:

This is the wallet (in a different colour)

Its size is listed on the website as

7.5" X 4.5" X 1"

Would it fit in the Soho Disco?

I have a Mulberry camera bag and love the size... anyone by any chance know how the Soho compares to this one?

I recently got the Disco as my first Gucci bag. It is a great first Gucci bag and I absolutely love it! It is perfect for carrying the essentials, but also fits a lot more than you'd expect. I can fit my iPhone 6, LV Zippy wallet, lip gloss, Ray-Ban aviators (in hard case), and still have a bit of room.

I currently use an epi Louis Vuitton Zippy as my wallet, which I believe is a bit larger than the wallet you linked above. It fits in the Disco, but it is a tight fit. Because I also recently got a LV Twinset, I'm going to purchase a smaller wallet or coin purse that I can use with my Twinset and Disco because, while my Zippy fits, it can be tight and a tad difficult to get out and put back in the bag quickly.

thank you very much, this is so helpful! Our wallets are exactly the same width, as far as I can make out (20cm / 7.5 inches) so it does look like it will be a tight fit :nogood:

What a pity. So silly to base a bag purchase on my wallet, but it was a special gift and I always carry it, so unless it is retired I may have to forget about the Soho.

Although of course I will test it in store if I ever get the chance! (in my hometown it is sold out in stores)

I would test it out and see if you can live with it. It's not a terrible fit, but it is a tad annoying if you have to be quick about taking your wallet in and out quickly. I will say it fits better in my Disco than my Twinset, but because I have two bags that it's a tight fit, I'm just going to get something small.

I'm a one wallet type of girl so what I am thinking about doing is keeping my Zippy wallet and getting the LV Zippy Coin Purse. This way I can use the ZCP as a small wallet with my Twinset and Disco and then use it to carry membership/loyalty cards and/or coins when I use my larger Zippy wallet. That way I have two "wallets" that I have the option of using together.

I do not own the Disco, but maybe if you live near by an Guccu store, head inside to see if the wallet can fit inside. That way you will know on the spot, if so-purchase it right away. :p

I understand the sentimental value but I suspect that your BF won't mind if you switch out your wallet once in a while. The wallet will also last longer if it gets the occasional break. I'm eyeing the Disco bag, trying to decide on color. It is such a simple and beautiful bag. I say go for it and get a small wallet.

I tried to do this, but they were all sold out in my local Gucci store! (and there are no others). I tried the wallet in a similar-sized bag - the fit is fine BUT this bag is 1cm longer than the Soho... GRRRR.

Great advice, thank you. Since I wouldn't be using the Soho as an everyday bag, I could live with it being a tight fit I think, as long as it fits (without spoiling the bag or wallet).

I know myself and have no patience to swap around wallets unfortunately...

This is a wierd question, but could you fit a normal-sized book in your Soho (paperback), along with your wallet, keys, phone? I can fit one (just!) in my Alexa camera bag :) and since I'm always reading on public transport this would be a plus for me.

Thanks everyone! I'm eyeing the Disco Soho in red, as I don't own a red bag.

Any chance of scoring it in a sale (e.g. Xmas? (I live in Europe). I don't know if it ever goes on sale...?

I own a zip around wallet for my gigantic samsung note phone, and it fits in my disco. Although I do prefer to use my smaller wallet (similar to men's sized) since I can fit more things in the disco that way. I used to think I wouldn't switch around wallets, but you'd be surprised how little you actually need in your wallet and things you can put away in your desk drawer.

Discos do go on sale, but not the classic colors or leathers, at least from what I've seen in the summer sale (that's when I got mine).
