Hi everyone!

I'm mostly a lurker here but because of all your helpful posts I have been successfully doing my nails at home instead of going to a salon!!

I have a good selection of basic polishes from OPI gelcolour and gelish. That's all that is readily available here in Perth, Western Australia.

I'm am now slowly replacing my favorites from my ordinary NP collection, which I no longer wear due to the fabulous wear I get from SOG formulas.

My favourite reds were always OPI I'm not really a waitress and Chanel's Lotus Rouge.
I have the OPI gelcolor equivalent and hate it. Nothing like the original.

In my search for the Chanel one I tried Gelish Backstage Beauty, but it's too brown and flat.

I want a vivid raspberry cream like Chanel's Lotus Rouge.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Here are some pictures. Credits due to blog pages Scottish lass and Gelishgeekery.

Thank you!!

I'm not at home so I can't compare colors but worse comes to worse, you could always do a gel sandwich. I'm case you aren't sure what that is, do your normal gel mani but before you do your color, wipe away your inhibition layer, the use regular polish for color. Get as close to the tips as possible but leave the tiniest space free. You'll have to let this dry, about a day, then seal it with gel top coat, remembering to call the free edge. This way, you can use your regular polish.

I seem to be having a fight with technology so apologies if this appears twice. If you haven't already checked them out, it's worth looking at chickettes and manictalons blogs. They've both done an awesome job of swatching loads of SOG colours of various brands. Good chance you'll find the colour you're after. They also do reviews on wear, ease of application and removal etc. of many of the colours which is really helpful.

Also, some gals have done a complete gel mani without color then used rnp, let it dry completely, then gel top coat again.

Another option is to use Gellit or MegaMix to create a gel polish from the Chanel Lotus Rouge.
I can't find anything on Gellit (it goes to an empty website) and Megamix is only available in the UK. Do you have further information on these gels and where to buy? It's definitely intriguing.

Wow. I looked at that website earlier this week! I don't know what happened to it. Here's some more info on Gellit http://nailsbybrandi.com/gellit-turn-any-nail-polish-into-gel/

I was lucky enough to get my hands on Megamix when I was in the UK a few months ago. It's pretty impressive and perfect for a situation like this.

Lucky you to pick up Megamix. Hopefully it will catch on and be sold in the US soon. I found Gellit. It's now going by the name of Gelibility on Facebook and website so not sure if this is really a legit product or maybe it's just new. Will be interesting to watch for sure. Thanks for the info!

Hi Vodka Soda

Thank you!! I don't have the patience for normal NP anymore. Since I first discovered shellac I packed it all away!!

If I don't find a good match I may try it for special occasions. Thanks again!

Addictedtogel, thank you! That will be my reading for tonight. Fingers crossed I find one. If I do, I'll repost it here.
