I missed the Boroughs the first time around and with the soft Borough at Coach again, I'd like to know how they are holding up and if you would purchase again? I've been to the clubhouse and have read about the magnets, etc., but after a couple years with this bag could you share your thoughts? Thank you!

I own two soft Boroughs and I love them. I have a lot of purses so they don't get heavy use, but they still look brand new. I have the earth and the black, and have been eyeing the tan one on SAS but trying to resist!

I have the black & earth as well from either the outlets or Macy's clearance back in the day & I'll probably keep them forever. They are just light & easy bags. I have had no issues with my magnets...its one of my favorite details of the bag (I'm not into snaps). I care for my bags but don't baby them. If anything, these get better with age. If the tan & loganberry had nickel hardware, I'd have snatched them up too!

I too have the earth color and am trying to resist the black on sale. I use it as a work tote, mostly in the cold weather, rotating it with three other work bags, and I've had it for two winters now. It still looks very good. Its drawback is that I cannot zip it closed completely so if we get rain – snow - sleet – hail during the work day, I have to chuck everything I can into the two ample zipper compartments and the middle magnetized compartment which does stay closed completely. That one has a very good magnet. It does soften more but it has held its unique shape. And did you see the picture posted somewhere on here of this bag in Earth soak from surprise rain and then dried the next day perfectly fine. What a good testament to the leather and finishing on it. I would definitely recommend it.

I agree. I have it in Earth, also. Amazing, simple bag that is very durable. I will be adding a pebbled black one and the oxblood to my collectioj eventually.

Thank you all so very much! It looks like I now have to narrow down to color, love black but have so many. Probably will try earth and if I love it can get another. To get a pebbled, is ebay the only way to go for new? Thanks again, very helpful to read the responses.

The black one is made with extremely good leather and is shiny. I know we all have multiple black ones. Please be very careful if you decide to go with Tan or Earth. I have seen several NWT Tan/Gold ones come with slight scratches and the scratches can be very prominent on the Tan. I've also seen some earth bags with dark freckles or very tiny black dots.(looks like a spray painted).

I'd get the soft borough through Coach, can return if not satisfied. Were you referring to NWT from ebay with having scratches?
Would only try ebay for the pebbled leather borough, but have been too scared to try. One listing was as new, yet they were not the first owner...

hI ordered two Boroughs from my Downtown store so I could choose between the black and earth. They arrived today perfectly wrapped, handles up, great packing job. The SA even went back to find a smooth earth for me rather than the speckled, etc. I checked the creed and there was no serial number, sure enough it's on the little tag and says D1680. Both customer service and the SA said these were overstock from 2014. Now I'm a little uncertain if these are as well made as the old ones? The only difference I have spotted so far besides the serial #, is the magnets are round rather than elongated. Am I too suspicious in thinking they may have cut corners in order to offer these at 50% off having been made in April? Gorgeous bag and supple leather, just disappointed because I thought these were old stock. Any thoughts on what you would do? I've never seen the original in person so can't compare other than photos and videos. Thanks again for your opinions!

I remember seeing many soft borough bags in the clearance section of the outlets at even higher discounts. Something like 70% off? I debated for a while on a soft loganberry, a soft grey, and the pebbled black at the time. If you are happy with the design and the leather I wouldn't worry too much. I remember the leather on those grey and loganberry Boroughs were amazing.

I don't see what's there to be suspicious about; they merely made too many of these bags and had to figure out how to sell them, outlets and all. Some of the styles had over 1000 made at a time, if you'll compare to the current offerings that only produce 1 or 200. If it's really disappointing I would return, but at this point you're not going to find better quality (or price, maybe) on an old style.
