Yesterday, I went to LV and ordered a shoulder strap for my Sofia Coppola PM blue cobalt because I lost the initial one.
Also, with the SA we noticed that the glazing on the handles were peeling... So she charged for the shoulder strap but did not charge for the glazing as it seemed to be a defect. Initially, the SA gave me 8 weeks delay but this morning my usual SA called and explained that it should take up to a year for the repair! Reasons are that this model is discontinued, it will take some time to re-do the glazing and order the right material for the shoulder strap to be made... I did not know what to say in the moment as I have no choice but to repair this bag...
I was wondering if anyone else received such a long repair frame notice? I live in Europe, so shipping to France from my boutique isn't the problem. However I find 1 year to be very long for a glazing repair and a shoulder strap to be made...
I can live without the bag for a year but now I wonder if the bag wasn't defective and part of the "recall"? Maybe I could have asked for an exchange or something? I would prefer that option than waiting a whole year for my bag (hopefully) to come back.
