So what bag are you using today?

Im not sure aine1313, theyre not exactly cheap are they?! Some of the leather bags cost as much as a mulberry! Ive only got oilcloth ones though as thats what i like about Orla Kiely - rain & dirt proof bags that are well made in fantastic colours and patterns!

I wouldn't consider Orla Kiely 'high street'. They are only sold in certain stores/ boutiques and aren't cheap!

Not entirely sure but to me it means easily available and affordable on the high street.

Here's the wikipedia explanation TG, but in laymans terms it's the main street of the town where you find the main shops, for example years ago it was the Butcher, Baker, Haberdashers, Ironmongers etc, these days the generic chain stores; clothing, music, jewellers etc that you find in most towns.

Since starting this thread I'm starting to realise 2 things

1) I don't get out enough
2) i have limited opportunity to use 'nice' bags ( either grubby at work or with a messy 3 year old!)

According to that definition then Orla Kiely is definately not high street!

Victoria Beckham classed Orla Kiely bags as high street in her book.......that's why I asked....and no I didn't read all of her book,the Sunday papers had free supplements of sections of it.

No she's not living in the real world. She did say how great mulberry's elgin was in the next paragraph and put a large picture of one in the book!
