I am from Nowhere, Michigan... like seriously. The tiniest little town you could ever possibly imagine. You drive in and you drive out before you ever knew you entered in the first place!

But... for some unknown reason the director of the new Gerard Butler movie "Machine Gun Preacher" chose my little town as the spot to film. Heading down to the movie set tomorrow... but here are some pics from the set. I'll post anything I see tomorrow... hoping I can get a picture of Mr. Butler! :yahoo:

How cool is that? Michigan is making a major effort to get some of the movie work that other states are trying to attract. A family member is a lawyer in MI in this field. MI deserves a boost to its economy. I was born there and went to college there--small town or not, it's a nice state with great people.

Groundhog Day was filmed in the next town up the highway from where we lived in IL. We went up and watched filming--saw Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, etc. It was fun to see how they altered the town a little. Friends were extras in the film.

Enjoy the local experience!

I got an autograph! :yahoo: I brought my "P.S. I Love You" movie... and he signed it. He is incredibly gorgeous in person... even more so than in the movies. Here's some more pictures!

My neighbor went with us and she took some really great pictures from later on in the day. I will post those later. I couldn't believe what a nice guy he was. He posed for tons of pictures and signed almost everything that was given to him.

I've heard this as well. The next town over just built a huge movie studio. Hoping that we can get some jobs and activity in Michigan. Our economy needs it, that's for dang sure.
