Small Summer Crossbody - which one?

Hey fellow purse lovers,
need help!!! I cant decide between the Speedy 20 Monogram Dune and the Alma BB Damierlicious!
Want to treat myself with a small light summer bag.
Which do you prefer (and why)?
Is the Alma colorway too girlish? Are the Speedy handles too harsh?
Questions over questions….

I wish the Speedy had lighter-colored handles. Very cute otherwise, but it just doesn't look right somehow with the rest of the bag to my eye.

I prefer the speedy. Alma has too much vachetta. Speedy 20 is an easier bag to use. (I have both in other patterns). Both are very light though and you also have to think do you want a mono bag. I think if you’re not sure, maybe neither is for you and wait for something that makes your heart sing.

I am not a big fan of the Speedy 20 monogram dune; it has too many colors going on. The Alma BB is a great bag but not so good for crossbody wear. Sorry, not really answering your question directly.

If I have to choose between these two I would choose the speedy 20 just because it is easier for crossbody. But honestly I wouldn’t choose these two, the Dune with black handle looks so strange, and the Alma has too much vachetta that I worried once the color honeyed it won’t match with such a colorful canvas

I agree with previous posters. Speedy makes a much better crossbody style but not loving the black on this speedy . Wish they’d stuck with all vachetta . Alma bb is a great bag but doesn’t really carry well as crossbody imo

Between the two, I prefer the Alma because I like the colors better and I am not crazy about the black handles of the Speedy. I have both of these bags in different prints and do carry them crossbody but I prefer my DA croisette as a crossbody carry. Good luck deciding .

For a small summer cross body I gotta choose the alma! The color is so fun! The speedy is nice but the black handle doesn't make sense to me

Im gonna travel to Amsterdam this coming weekend and I guess Im gonna visit the LV store to see the Dune collection in person. Maybe that helps to decide. The problem is, Damierlicious will come out March 15th and I dont know if the Dune is still available until then.
@Cathindy I remember you live in the Netherlands, can you recommend one of the 2 stores in Amsterdam?

Im also thinking about which one would be more delicate with color transfer and „accidents“… but probably they will both be the same….

Im gonna travel to Amsterdam this coming weekend and I guess Im gonna visit the LV store to see the Dune collection in person. Maybe that helps to decide. The problem is, Damierlicious will come out March 15th and I dont know if the Dune is still available until then.

There are pro's and cons to both stores! The LV inside the Bijenkorf has longer opening hours and there's also the men's pop-up which is fun to visit. This store attracts mostly tourists because the location is perfect in the middle of the city center. However the stores looks dated and is a bit small. The store at the PC Hooftstraat is very recently renewed and is now a 3 story building having anything you can imagine this is also the store where locals mostly shop but it's outside of the city center. If you have time to travel there I would go to the PC Hooftstraat because it's beautiful both stores have great stock so I wouldn't worry too much about that!

And have fun in Amsterdam, what are you planning to do?

I was a bit confused as every item from the dune collection seems only available at the Hooftstraat (as far as one can rely on the LV website…)

We are gonna do a weekend trip from friday until monday. This year we want to do several of these short city trips within Europe (next time Zurich, maybe Stockholm and London)
But first Amsterdam! I definitely want to eat a lot of delicious food and sweets, want to drive with the boats and visit the big art museums. And maybe a bit shopping

Oohh I’ve seen the Dune collection in the Bijenkorf store when I was there a month ago but stock really goes fast there, maybe they’re already gone. In my experience the stock info is true on the website so definitely base your visit on the availability of the items you want

The Dune is really beautiful in person and i actually surprisingly liked how it looked with the black strap. You should definitely try it out, hope you get to see it in person and have a fun trip!
